  1. I am at a meeting tomorrow so can you call Martin Moore my Service Manager, and I will tell him to expect your call (0116 2626200)
  2. We will have a look for you Andy. I hope we can actually get it in the workshop as we have a fairly steep ramp
  3. It could be the exhaust catching the bodywork, which can cause an unpleasant resonance and or clunk. Just a thought
  4. I mentioned the V5 because that is what is required as proof. I'm sure Hadleigh will look after you
  5. Keep a copy of your V5 as with this you will get your 10k,20k and 30k service F.O.C, because your car was over 18 months old
  6. Anyone doing anything special for a loved one, or is it the usual flowers, card and an overpriced meal in a jam packed restaurant
  7. Fingers crossed for you that you get it written off. Have to agree with Chris though that it looks rescuable from what is visible. The bodyshop will probably want the job, and I guess the insurance assessor will make his decision based on their quote and his inspection. As I say fingers crossed and I hope you have a positive outcome. I would recommend GAP insurance on your next one.
  8. The best colours for resale are Platinum Ice, Strathcaron Blue, Astral Black and Granite Sky. Also best to stick with the Exmoor Interior. Other colours are simply worth less come resale, although things can change as colours can go out of fashion. The cheapest IS200s available are always Green/Red/Gold/White. But it is your money!
  9. If you read what I said it did say mechanical and cosmetic. There is a checksheet which is done with every car, although it is the pass certificate which is handed to the customer. As with any thing involving humans there is some interpretation as to what is acceptable cosmetically, and some engineers are more choosy than others. It's one to discuss with your dealer, although they do seem to be sorting your problems for you.
  10. You can buy modified wheel arch liners which you need with the Lexus 18" wheels so maybe you could do with one of these.
  11. It's actually very stringent, and I guess pretty similar to one you might pay for independently, although it is a simple pass or fail with the approved used car program, on a multitude of points both mechanical and cosmetic.
  12. Lexus Oxford will look after you well. (Completely biased opinion) :)
  13. I'm just trying to imagine anyone over 13 who would like that rear wing.
  14. I think it will do well. It's only real competition is C class coupe and BMW Compact. Personally I am not a fan of the Compact and the Merc seems very expensive, so I think you are going to see a few of these assuming the price is sensible.
  15. The only picture I have seen is in the latest Lexus magazine. Would like to see some on a car, so will probably put some on a demo in March. Will let people know my opinion then. I suppose the advantage with them is that if you fit the front spoiler, without the rest of the kit it looks a little unfinished whereas these should look O.K on their own, a little bit of individuality and a lot cheaper than the full kit.
  16. From memory, when the intelligence tester is attached to the car, it is a menu option to adjust various settings which vary from car to car, although as a general rule the standard settings are fine and as such it isn't offered to people, but I'm sure that if you ask your local dealer when the car is next in they would be able to alter some settings if you particularly were unhappy with something
  17. Amarillo Yellow Colour Code 576 Sunglasses essential B) See picture below BANANARAMA!!!!
  18. My understanding is that these wheels are the same as IS edges in that they are highly polished and lacquered rather than painted, which is nigh on impossible to repair properly, unless a specialist completely redoes them including the lacquering which I think is done at a high temperature. Painted finish wheels are far easier to do small repairs to.
  19. Tony, You are assuming that only the retail price would be affected when in fact the trade price would alter downwards to reflect the retail price. What you must all bear in mind is that the dealers margins are not that large after preparation, warranty, valeting, discount and commission are taken into account, (average is approx £1000 across country) which may surprise many of you. The most desirable cars in the best colour and sat nav, low mileage, etc etc will always make more money in the trade and retail. Look at the differences in asking prices on the Lexus locator, and you can see the trend. If you intend to keep a car for a long period then big savings can be made on "undesirable" cars of all makes, as a 10 year old is valued far more on condition.
  20. Tony, Saw your car advertised at Worcester, and not only have you bought one with a great starting price but you have also done a good deal on it and recognised the deal as one not to be missed. Well done and enjoy it!!
  21. Exceptions do not prove the rule. I would be amazed if you could get it for £12000, unless it is in a poor colour or they have had it for months. Huge discounts on cars usually means only one thing and that is ludicrous asking prices. A car with no discount is the best if the asking price is below the market. The important figure is what you pay not what you get off. P.S Chris are you open to these kind of offers, as if so I'll buy yours
  22. Zee, See you on Friday morning, can't do Thursday. I've let Martin know
  23. Zee, We do have a full 4 wheel alignment kit(assuming you are referring to us). The specified labour time by Lexus is 1.2hrs. The check is included on your major services and you are then charged for any adjustments that are made. It seems that wide low profile tyres coupled with multilink suspension doesn't need to be far out of spec to wear edges. It is easiest to check on a regular basis if you have the front wheels on full lock. Worth doing from time to time. The difference is most obvious when you compare the SE/Sport with the S which is far less sensitive to uneven wear as it's tyres have a far more rounded profile and more give in the sidewall.
