  1. Have a look on lpgforum Chris, search bought up 138 results, I'll let you plough through that lot!! http://www.lpgforum.co.uk/search.php?keywords=stefanelli&terms=all&author=&sc=1&sf=all&sk=t&sd=d&sr=posts&st=0&ch=300&t=0&submit=Search
  2. But many cars come from the factory with no spare, just a repair kit, and have done for many years. Even the space saver wheels have limited speed and range, and frankly, aren't very safe imo. I think there might be a case for carrying a repair kit, if only to satisfy RAC etc, but they are also risky if the tyre has suffered damage whilst running flat. Guess the only answer is to ask the company that you're with, before having to call them out.
  3. The problem is, if you carry a spare wheel, which obviously can no longer live in it's proper place, there's very limited boot space. I try to keep mine in the boot, but occasionally travel without if I need the luggage space.
  4. Happy days! In the days before cats, I had an old Vauxhall Victor FB estate, and it suddenly refused to go above 30 mph, though still ran smoothly. I was clueless as to what was wrong, having checked all the usual ignition and fuel supply suspects. Brother in law just happened to mention his scooter did the same thing, and it was collapsed baffles in the exhaust. I promptly disconnected mine at the manifold, and it took off like a very noisy rocket. One new exhaust later, problem gone. Not come across it in the forty years since though, so I guess you can count yourself a bit unlucky.
  5. Just been to check capacity of mine, and it's not 80L, but 68L. I do recall being asked whether I wanted a raised boot floor, and saying no. I think, given my time again, I'd probably go for a bigger tank, and put up with the slightly smaller boot space. All depends on individual needs I guess.
  6. It usually runs out on the road to Hailsham where I fill up, and often will get me to the garage if I switch back to gas and use gentle throttle for the remaining couple of miles. My tank is 80L I think, so 64L is the recommended 80%, which is close enough for me.
  7. Soon as it slows, I stop, as you'd be there for ever trying to squeeze another litre in. Mine takes 60 litres if I run it out of gas before filling, which is about right for the tank capacity.
  8. Third post of the thread, well done Steve!! Glad your back in the driving seat Mike.
  9. My god, can't believe a month has passed so quickly. Doesn't sound like a great effort from this garage, hope you get sorted soon, you must be really missing the old girl. Doesn't anybody give good service anymore, I'm typing this using my mobile phone internet, as Sky have royally screwed up my landline and broadband renewal, losing my landline number for good, and forcing me in to the clutches of BT fibre, hopefully in a weeks time. As my mate Jim would say, progress my arse!.
  10. Pretty simple job to remove the aux belt, then check it for condition, and also check the idlers for roughness/play. I fitted a new Gates belt to mine, reasonably priced on ebay.
  11. Welcome to the forum James. Shame it couldn't have been in happier circumstances, but, for what it's worth, I think it was ridiculous to accuse you of racism. Hope you find a nice car soon.
  12. Car been stood for a week while we were away, and despite mild weather, wouldn't start . Half an hour charge was enough to get it to fire, but I thought better to replace battery before it lets me down away from home. Rang Toyota, in stock for £88, so off I trotted. My main reason for posting though, the car seems to be running better.....nothing startling, just a general livelier feel to the performance. Young woman serving me made me feel old though, offered to carry it to the car for me, bless her. Fortunately I'm not that weak yet.
  13. I'd have been surprised at any other outcome, to be honest, but at least now you have peace of mind.
  14. With the differing opinions offered so far, why not just ring Lexus or Toyota for the definitive answer?
  15. As with domestic carpets and rugs, you really do get what you pay for. My lexus mats are great, as were the genuine Honda mats I had before on a few cars.
  16. No such thing as TOO cynical Malc, your cynicism needs to be at max strength these days.
  17. Won't have been an easy search, that's for sure. Back in the day, there were a few firms importing engines from Japan, don't know if that's still the case. Lucky we're not in Cuba, they'd just whack a 1.6 Lada engine in.
  18. http://www.carvillage.co.uk/used-car/lexus/ls/mtz_25850_41165299 58 reg £12,450. However, there's a reason it's cheap, it's had a replacement second hand engine at 180,000 miles, having suffered a broken timing chain. This despite being described as having full Lexus history.
  19. Drop in the ocean, no deterrent at all really. Wonder how many man hours went in to getting this result, and at what cost? Also wonder if he'll change his ebay name......again.
  20. Would have been worth losing an LS, as long as the pillock promised to sit in it while it was blown up. Must say the 430 interior does look nice, with one exception, the front drivers seat always looks a bit baggy, as if it's done a lot of miles with an ample posterior perched on it.
  21. Logically, it would seem to be something that splits two ways, lpg feed for example, and one side isn't working properly. Sorry, but not familiar enough with the underbonnet area to make a more informed guess. Good luck getting it fixed. Not happy that RAC man didn't have equipment to read faults though.
