  1. Think I got mine from a firm called SGS?, cheaper than ebay, and quick delivery. There is a thread on here somewhere, that's been dug up and revived a few times, I'll see if I can find it, but may not happen, as I'm on a caravan club internet connection (barely!!). EDIT:- Found another thread about them, here's the link. http://www.cargasstruts.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=26&products_id=1571
  2. Not sure how that would allow the fluids to mix Phil. Surely the failed seal would just allow whatever passes through that pipe to escape to the outside. I would guess the fault would be internal. Certainly a wise move to fit a new rad though, in my opinion.
  3. Yep, rotted like a pear, I'm afraid, bottom of the doors in particular, pulled like a train though, once I'd converted to manual choke. Just checked ebay and drooled over the Crown!!
  4. And here's the closest you can get to an LS estate. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the Toyota Crown Athlete estate.
  5. I love estate cars, as did the yanks in the not so distant past. I used to run one of these, complete with fake woody look, easy to see who it was targeted at!!
  6. Bet you're glad you asked Steve!! As long as you're happy, that's all that matters.
  7. Quite close to my assessment (saves me typing!!). Exceptions being Harris, never taken to him I'm afraid, but I can put up with him, and Jordan, who is surprisingly poor and just doesn't gel with any of the others. I admit to quite enjoying the final program, without "shouty" and stars in car, would have been even better.
  8. Yes John, mine is LPG as well, converted about three years ago, once I'd decided the car was worth keeping for a while. Firstly, I agree with Mike regarding the gauge, I first drove an LPG car in 1980, and have owned or driven quite a few since, not one of which had anything approaching a decently accurate gauge. I also use the same method of resetting the trip after filling, then around the 200 mark, in my case, head for a pump. Good luck finding anybody local to work on the gas side of the car, I've looked a few times and also checked on the lpgforum, and nothing comes up. So if mine needs anything in the future, I'll get it done when visiting family in South Wales or Yorkshire. The nearest I've seen mentioned is Gas and GO (?), in Swindon, don't know if they're any good though. The blokes figure of 240 miles per fill sounds reasonable to me, I tend to press on a bit as well, so you may indeed do better, particularly if you do reasonable runs, rather than short town trips, which will knock your mpg down considerably, in my experience. As to what the various websites say, about availability and price, take them with a pinch of salt, and ring the garages for info from the horses mouth, as opposed to the other end of it's anatomy! The spare wheel thing is a bit of a nuisance, but the majority (I think?) of new cars, don't carry a proper spare anymore, so you could join them in prayer and carry a tin of miracle gunk, I suppose. At least we have the choice of carrying one or having a full boot space available. Anyway, that's enough of my waffling, good luck with the car, let us know how you get on with it. By the way, that LS430 is still showing as in stock at Eastbourne auctions, so can't have sold on Friday either, must be too high a reserve on it.
  9. Forgot to say, wheels look ok to me, especially as the originals look like plastic wheel trims, imo. Can't say I'm keen on any of the LS wheel patterns until MKIV DHP wheels, then 430 ones on.
  10. I like the colour. As to LPG, I use bp garage at golden cross, they do the card scheme, whereby the price drops by 1p a litre with each visit, up to a maximum of 10p, then you start again with a new card. The card is also valid at the garage on the roundabout, leaving Brighton on the London road, maybe at others too, for all I know. The only other local pump I know of, is the services at Polegate, on the roundabout. I agree about the poor availability around this area, so if you find any others, I'd be interested to know. Good luck with the car.
  11. I'd do the same, ok as a spare assuming it's not cracking, but certainly wouldn't use it full time. As to carrying a spare, could you not fit an external carrier on the back door? I quite like the ones with a hard cover, as seen on RAV4s and the like.
  12. A few years ago(2007ish?), many caravan/motorhome dealers suffered in the floods, and I think Simpsons of York, iirc, were selling a load of motorhomes cheap, though declared as what they were, so no suggestion of anything underhand. I think some were even brand new and unregistered, but obviously not warranted by the manufacturers. The law might have changed since then of course.
  13. Be interested to see what you think of it, because, to my eyes, it wasn't as bad as the report would suggest, though I'd agree that the N/S rear has seen a bit of action.
  14. Absolutely. Toyota deserve credit imo, for owning up and taking responsibility, unlike some of the european manufacturers, in my experience.
  15. The star in a car nonsense had already been running for far too long imo, even before the new set up. But it's now beyond bad, being a shameless plug for a couple of "celebrities" latest enterprise. The obvious reading of the other celebs plug, from an autocue, is painful to watch, and the new mixed format lap is already stale. No wonder a lot of people have said they record the program, and fast forward through star in a car, it seems to go on forever, starts on a "wtf are they" and ends on a "who cares" note.
  16. You can get a Denso for half the Lexus price, a brand that many fit as original equipment, Lexus included. Opie advertise that on ebay, maybe you can find it cheaper still, or ask Opie if they give the normal 10% members discount on that price. £40 is suspiciously cheap imo, for a decent quality rad, after all, the idea is to eliminate a common fault, so pointless fitting crappy gear, given the possible disastrous consequences.

  18. Saw it being prepped on Friday, so body wet, but looked to be reasonable, though inspection report says otherwise. Started on first turn and idled well, and sat nice and square. That's the extent of my knowledge, other than what's on their site for all to see, just search for Lexus, it's the only one in stock.
  19. Bet I can guess who you are talking about. Give us another clue, like location.
  20. John, I don't know how brave you are, but there's a 430 at eastbourne car auctions at the moment, its still showing as in stock, so obviously didn't sell today.
  21. Good news indeed, get your mechanic to point the oil leak at the rusty springs!! (more likely just another tester who feels he has to put something down).
