  1. I did research on this and have compiled the following list of parts. Also, there were two TSBs in USA where parts were changed to combat squealing issues and I have used the updated part numbers from them. 0446530450 - Low Dust Pads 0494530330 - Anti Squeal Shims Kit 0494722070 - Anti Rattle Caliper Clips 4773550020 x 2 - Sliding Pins 4773022460 - Caliper Drivers Side 4775022460 - Caliper Passenger Side 4778122200 - Brake Dust Shield - Drivers Side 4778222200 - Brake Dust Shield - Passengers Side 4351230350 - Brake Disc - Drivers Side 4351630040 - Brake Disc - Passenger Side It's just a matter of going to the dealer now to get a quote. I'll probably pop in at some point this month but feel free to beat me to it...
  2. Let us know how you get on Ishaq. I want to do mine too. Got some fancy Bosch ones last time. They are a bit noisy if the rain is light. So I would prefer to go back to OEM. Unfortunately threw away the OEM blades as I thought I was upgrading...
  3. If the key is the issue, then pressing the start button should say something like 'key not detected' or similar on the dash.. If this is what is happening then it could be that the batteries for the fob have died or for whatever reason the fob is not being detected. I doubt it has become unpaired. He should try and hold the key next to the start button and then giving the start button a push. See video below. If nothing happens on the dash when the start button is pressed then the car battery is probably dead and charging it has not made a difference.
  4. If you have parking sensors you should be able to see them on the bumper and then it's just a matter of them being mute or turned off.. There's 4 in the rear bumper and 2 useless ones up front.
  5. Don't rely on this Exdee, mine shows bright blue, 'battery ok', the battery tester however says call the cardiac arrest team cos the battery's dead. There's a marked improvement in the crank 'speed' now, 1/2 second to start as opposed to 1 - 2 seconds Yeah you are probably right. It looks like a very simple and non-technical indicator. I doubt it has any significance. Probably indicates battery life based on the water or something..
  6. Not too bothered about fuel economy but I was drawn to this thread because of 'Tank Range'. Now considering the car has a 65 Litre tank and the most it takes is around 56-57 litres, I wonder what happens to the rest. Does the tank get air locked? Or is the reserve that big and Lexus just make us fill up earlier than required. Ideally, I would like to fill it up to the 63-64 litre mark which means I could go longer between fill ups as I just hate the drill of waiting in queues first at filling area and then at the kiosk. I am really tempted to see how long I can travel when the 'Tank Range' says Zero.
  7. They are plenty of SE-L (with MM) models on both sites you mention which i believe is equivalent of fully loaded. Look out for a 2009 or early 2010 one as I believe they started cutting back on the kit after those years.
  8. Apologies, I take that back. Looks like they did make some significant changes. Since the engine code hadn't changed I assumed they just did some minor tweaks.
  9. I am down with the V8 too but I just think Lexus stick with the engines for too long. This is primarily the same engine as the ISF which is 7 years old now. I think if they were to make a new V8 from scratch today they could probably achieve more torque/bhp and maybe MPG too. But I guess on the bright side it's a tested product so reliability wise they know where they stand. Ah I see but I am sure some clever after market application will comes out soon which will enable you to utilize every pixel.
  10. There's actually an indicator on the battery that changes color to show what condition it's in. When it goes white you need to change it.
  11. Chris you are going to miss that 12" display! The one on this looks tiny in comparison.. I think its a nice car but I think they have spent far too much effort on styling. They haven't really shown any innovation under the bonnet whereas the competitors are constantly improving their engines. Lexus has some catching up to do.
  12. Yeah that's the one. It's all metal so don't worry about getting it spot on. But beware of the oil pan when jacking from the front.
  13. You are in luck. I couldn't find it myself when I wanted to use it a few months ago. I had to extend my arm under the car and take pictures with my phone to see where it was. This is the front. Similar spot round the back where the spare tyre is.
  14. My sympathies for your loss. Can you please name the two dealers. The difference in price is quite significant.
  15. It's actually a bit controversial. Whilst they do help keep the dust away the initial bite is lost quite significantly. If you like progressive braking then you will love them but if you brake at the last minute then you will probably feel uneasy with these.
  16. Hi Taurintas, Welcome to the forum. The UK Spec cars do not come with the beeps on locking/unlocking so unfortunately that is not something we can relate to. It's really hard to say whats causing the alarm to go off. Somebody might come along and point you in the right direction but if not I think it's probably best you take the car to an expert for diagnosis.
  17. Interesting post. I drove both the 2nd gen IS250 and the 3rd gen IS300h on the Autobahn this month so here's my take on them. The IS300h definitely had less road noise then the IS250 which could be due to better refinement and newer tyres but I found the engine too noisy especially en route to Austria where it starts to get a bit hilly. The Autobahn is generally littered with these 2.0 - 3.0 litre diesel engines which have a ridiculous amount of torque (the ones that flash you) so if you want to stay in the fast lane you generally have to floor your car. I went up to 180 km/h on the IS300h (was being cautious as it wasn't my car) but yeah it was great apart from the engine feeling like it would pop under hard acceleration. I am sure if I drove more sensibly and accelerated gently the engine noise would not have been an issue. Getting back into my IS250 I found it a bit sluggish at low speeds (the hybrid motor definitely gives the IS300h an edge). I could instantly feel the road noise was higher on the Autobahn in general, except in parts where they have done a great job on the road and it is unbelievably smooth and quiet! I did not find the engine noise to be excessive even when thrashing the car (maybe my ears did not mind the sound of the V6). I went all out on my car. Yes, I kid you not. 260 KM/h. It is not limited to 140 MPH as Lexus claim it to be which I found surprising but hey I did not mind. I was very impressed especially considering this was on a slight incline! The actual pull from 80 - 130 MPH was great as this was in the 4th gear which has great power delivery across the range. There was a brief pause when the car switched to the 5th gear which felt like that was it but I think it was due to the revs falling into to a range where the power delivery isn't that great. It felt like it started to pull again after it reached a certain point on the rev counter. I should probably also mention that after reaching the top speed I had to brake to a complete stop because of an incident on the road ahead. I did manage to stop in time without engaging the ABS which probably means it was a safe stop after-all. But the deceleration wasn't as quick as I would have liked it to be. The fact that I have the low dust pads which are a less abrasive material probably didn't help either. But still, It was my first time on the Autobahn and I think it will be memorable. I remember smiling from end to end and being immensely proud of the vehicle. Having said that I should probably stress that one should not get too excited and go over the top especially when going downhill. Accelerating is easy, It's the stopping part that can be difficult. :)
  18. It's sad. Looks like the last V6 that is still ported with a standard transmission will be eventually shelved too and we'll be left with nothing but this CVT nonsense. :(
  19. One bolt for the washer bottle. Don't pull the bottle out. Just move it out of the way so that you can access the bulb.
