  1. ^^ I'm getting the impression you don't like it Russell?....
  2. The rear isn't too bad. The front is feckin' hideous! It looks like it's chomping on a lemon!
  3. Seen a C a couple of weeks ago (lid shut obviously). I thought it looked superb! Only had one convertible but I'd have another one in a flash. Awkward with two kids though.....
  4. Yeah, sure it's Monday. I don't think it going to snow on the landing so I should be safe for work...
  5. Winter wheels are going on the IS tomorrow :) Been driving RWD cars for a while and always had a set of winter wheels/tyres. It's funny when you go straight past a stranded 4x4 on summer tyres in a fat 7-Series BMW Sometimes it get's ridiculous though and it needs to stay on the drive.... This was my E39 Touring in 2010's snow and then again two days later.... :eerrrmm:
  6. It's really a 5 minute job to take the lining out. 3-4 poppers and the two luggage rings and it's out. Much better than bending it and risking creasing the thing. Dragged my 'Snow Mode' out of the shed and they're ready to go on tomorrow!
  7. The box on mine looks like this (green arrow) but the one in yours is probably slightly different as mine is only a two sensor setup. The volume control is next to the plug that connects to it.
  8. Mine is quite old so they might have changed the sensors on te newer one like yours. Take the liner off in the boot and have a look.
  9. Cheers Russell, I'll try and get the rear seat out to route the cable and stick the speaker behind the C-pillar. The volume control was mounted with a double sided pad too. Had to get it off to get to the little white volume control.
  10. Russell: Thanks a lot. I found the box with the volume switch :) It was on MAX already but I found why you can't hear it very good in the car.... They've mounted the speaker in the boot behind the rear seat seems there's plenty of cable so I'll try and get it behind the C-pilar like yours is. I take it there's a mounting point already? Stuart: Sorry for hijacking your thread...
  11. Mine is all working but the volume is so low that the reverse beeper makes it hard to hear the reverse sensor one. Just had a look in the boot but can't find the volume control? Is it tucked behind the grey liner?
  12. I think this is the case on mine too. Everything works apart from the flash when locking. Very annoying. Could you PM me with the location of this box please?
  13. ^^ I thought they were aftermarket tat to start with until I found the original Toyota/Denso owners manual along with the car's books etc.. They're damn ugly though... but the beep is much nicer than all aftermarket ones I ever fitted in previous cars..
  14. Still doing this. Read somewhere on here that somebody fitted a HID kit that killed the Anti-Theft ECU. I have fitted an Antiglare HID kit before the weird flashy thing started. The ECU's are pennies on eBay so I want to get one to eliminate that. Where does it live? I know this is a public forum and info like this is better not to be shared but if anyone knows where it lives please PM me.
  15. Unsure if yours are OEM Toyota sensors as the OEM ones are pretty ugly stick out rubber sensors and the ones in your's sit pretty flush and are colour coded. Have a sit in the back and engage reverse and see if you can hear anything. The reverse beeper seems to be in the front and the reverse sensor beeper in the rear. Also the OEM only has two sensors and they are on the corners rather than on the back. (see pict of mine)
  16. I have factory sensors and the beep for reverse gear is louder than the sensor beeper. You have to really listen to it to hear it. Stupid design!
  17. No idea. Hence the '?' My advice is to drive a few before you buy btw
  18. Getting the motor to work for open/close and tilt is very easy and can be done in no time at all. Google or youtube it and you'll find loads of info on this.
  19. Welcome along Paul, Only been here a short while myself.
  20. I think so, a silver box, Toyota 8628D? That's the one! There's some pictures here to show the different connections and pinouts
  21. Happy New Year to you too or Gelukkig Nieuw Jaar if we're talking foreign.... My (old shape IS) is rather twitchy at the rear but it came with 'plastic' tyres on the rear.. Waiting for the snow to hit (end of Jan I hope) so I can sort the summers out.
  22. Not looked into Hybrids ever. Yet. Only bought the IS200 as I wanted one when they came out as they looked good. Not because its a Lexus in particular. I'm having a couple of years off work which I'm half way through and after that the mileage will go back up drastically again so will be looking for something else or maybe the IS would do fine when if it sees motorways most of the time?
