  1. Welcome along! Car looks good. Any interior pictures?
  2. That would be good. Would be nice to have a look over the beast. Read enough about it.
  3. Queens day is good! Try and make it one time. I can't speak Italian at all. My great grandparents or summit were from there. Sounds like they're always shouting over there Afrikaans is really funny to read. I think we must have dropped them in the deep end too early and they finished the language off them selves. I've got two mates from there. Get some saving up done before you move to Holland..... I wouldn't want to move back there...
  4. Do they actually speak Dutch in A'dam? Half the time you'd get round easier speaking English... Have you been for Queens Day yet?
  5. 37 Can only seem to buy cars that are bad on fuel...... Saab Vert 2.3 - BMW 740i - BMW 525tds - IS200...
  6. I had the Hella AE's on my 5 but they were standard fit and not intended as DRL's. Just a shame they started to use them on more BMW models and when Audi started decorating their cars with silly LED's it was all over.... They call it DRL's and set a trend as even a bloody C3 has them now. Everybody thinks they're new as Halfords sell them as kits. Most Volvo's and Saabs came with DRL's as standard back in the day and weren't annoying xmas decorations all over!
  7. Nice looking thing. My mate has one but then without all the stickers and lights on... Seen some ridiculously expensive police cars round here lately too. Range Rovers and 5-Series E60's, X5's, Impreza's and Evo's. Back in my homeland police was driving about in this thing quite a few years back. When I was a kid police in Holland were using 911 Targa's. How cool is that?
  8. That's not bad then. Stick 'em in the boot as said by others above. It's awfully dark in there.. Mine is anyway as it's not working at all.. Note to self; must check boot solenoid and get this sorted.
  9. Sorry it's a no from me.. I know it's Christmas and all that but audifying / Xmas decorating your car is not for me. Each to their own though. If you like it then fair enough. It'd be boring if everybody was the same.
  10. She's got a gen6 Celica atm and I can't say I like driving that! She loves it though. I wouldn't say I 'like' driving the IS that much neither.... Maybe I'm just getting old.. The IS is a very pretty looking car but there's not an awful lot of comfort.. Only other thing is the gen7 is not available in purple which is putting her off She said that she wouldn't mind having an IS when we picked it up last month, I said you can't have two IS's on the drive as that'll look weird and said you can have mine and I'll buy a GS. Not gone down well.....
  11. GS300 sub 1K I'm looking to buy my misses a new shape Celica and 53-04 plates are all around 2K. Cheap as chips! Just finding the right one without leather is the hardest part.
  12. Look on the bright side... when you buy your next car it will be good on fuel whatever car you buy...
  13. I think there is.... I had a 740i alongside the 5 and that was returning roughly the same but that's a 4.4 litre V8
  14. Just done my first full tank and got 290 miles and the light came on. Just town driving. Pretty shocking for a tiny engine....
  15. The 2nd gen GS has the same power plant as the IS so I imagine it'll be roughly the same in consumption. Maybe a little more because of the weight and size. The 2nd gen GS is one beautiful looking thing especially in blue or gold!
  16. Seems like prices are dropping by the day! Look at these two. Linky thing 1 Linky thing 2 No affiliation BTW
  17. Happy New Year all. No new year resolutions, it's perfectly fine as it is!
  18. You're wrong there Chris! I know they were cheap but I think I 'might' just have the best bargain of Ian so far.... I'll do a bit of a write-up when I get time to fit it so you'll find out then.. I the mean time you can keep guessing :P
  19. ^^ That must be the bargain of the year 2013! Get it converted!
  20. I'm happy enough with it and I do like the reliability of Toyota's. Misses likes it a lot and she hated the BMW with a passion so that counts. She drives a Celica and had it for 6 or 7 years and I think I have spent about £120 on parts over that period. It has NEVER let her down yet. I can't say that about the 5-Series I had. Then again, that did have 353000 miles on it when I retired it last month.... I'm steadily looking round for a new shape Celica for her to replace the current one. Cars cost absolutely nothing at the moment. Picking some new IS toys up from IanS200 over the weekend and hopefully get them fitted at some point. Aiming to have swapped everything cream to black inside this year. Missing the technology and retrofitability (is that a word)? of the BMW but it's done now and the little IS has replaced the much loved bus..... RIP It's on the drive atm and most bits are sold. A sad sight :( Before and after.....
  21. No not at all. Last tank (70L) gave me 290 miles.... The BMW got me more than that and is twice as big. It's a funny little go-kart thing and still rwd so it'll do for a bit. Maybe I should've bought a GS300 though.
