  1. I've always wanted to go to Cosford. Bit of a trek but I'll see if I can get there.....
  2. Which I think is otherwise known as two concentric cones in one speaker. I believe Tannoy did this about 30+ years ago?
  3. I had an RC-F for a day as a loan car from Lexus Guildford. I noticed they have a GS-F for sale at them moment, I wonder what the chances are???
  4. So the question is, when do you post the answers?? I spotted maybe 4 differences, so i am very curious as to 7?
  5. @Big Rat That's an impressive watch you are keeping on the market there......
  6. My IS-F doesn't have tyre pressure warning..... Though i gather the RC-F does.
  7. I have to admit I flirted with an RC-F carbon the other day, but for some reason I'm finding it difficult to commit....
  8. oh and strangely, I've never had uneven wear on the inside of the front tyres......
  9. Thats a coincidence, had an MOT fail due to front number plate not being securely attached (double sided tape fail), dealer fitted new plates front and back FoC, which was nice. Also got an advisory on the rear brake pads, I know they will need doing soon and, GASP, a rear shock absorber has got a slight seep. Not enough to do under warranty yet (it is covered) so I'll see how it's doing at the next service.
  10. Welcome and hope you continue to enjoy driving your IS-F over here. Grey is, undoubtedly, the best colour for an IS-F. There are many reasons, good taste, however, precludes denigration of those less fortunate.....
  11. speaking about software, has anyone updated their software and maps using the lexus download thats available? I believe you can get this for free for more recent cars, I haven't checked properly but I think mine might be just inside the break for this? If anyone has done this, how did it go, did you get any new features?
  12. interesting, where did you see the news about this? I've not managed to find anything.......
  13. I once ran out of fuel many years ago, in a very inconvenient part of the world in an old car with, as it turned out, dodgy electrics. I guess I was scarred for life by the experience, because I have made sure I always fill up early. The sight of that little yellow petrol pump glowing at me makes me come over all strange.....
  14. When I finally get around to uploading it, have a pic on my phone of the temp reading showing 40C, which dropped to 35C on the motorway, from a couple of days ago. Just curious if anyone saw a higher temp? Glad I have white leather in the car........
  15. Chap in a new SQ5 got very upset with me a little while ago..... Funny thing was, came up behind him again a couple of days ago and he obviously remembered because he decided to show off, let him get on with it as it was in a built up area rather than pulling onto dual carriageway.
  16. likewise. I nearly went to the Classic Le Mans a couple of times a number of years ago when I used to run a scimitar with a stage 3 engine and all the bits, even had the tickets sorted out at one point, but work intervened. These days the thrill of camping and staying up all night with crappy showers and bogs just seems to have worn off....
  17. I had 2 capris in the past, both were amusing. First was a Mk 1 2.0 GXL, the old v4 engine so it was one of the first, which I really liked, though by the time I got it it was a bit rusty and then a few years later a 280, which was my first ever company car.... The 280 spent most of the first year in the garage, long list of faults, I think Ford were using up the last of a whole bunch of part bins with it. Once it got sorted out it was good fun though. The combination of dinosaur suspension, a reasonable engine and an LSD with no traction control made getting away from the lights in a hurry very amusing at times. First time I ever had a tank slapper in a car....
  18. my Dad used to have a Humber Imperial, which was basically a spruced up Super Snipe. We used to go on holiday in it all over the UK. He used to spend at least a couple of hours under the bonnet every weekend doing something to it, fabulous car, wish I had it now...
  19. For me, the fact that it is rare, attractive and built like a tank (including the weight :) ) suggests to me that in future in may be a marmite car. ISF is a bit subtle, GSF is very capable but again a bit nondescript. There are plenty of attractive cars out there that attract long term interest despite not driving particularly well but people are happy to pay quids for. I also think the RCF may well end up with a bit of halo effect from the LC, which I freely admit would be the one to really have, if budget permitted.
  20. I must admit, I always thought the Lotus bit was more significant in the classic stakes than the carlton bit. Anyway, didn't the Carlton really nail the top end souped up exec express for quite some time? Whereas the IS-F has a number of competitors?
  21. Yes, some really really god pix. Definitely not boring.
