correct you can put a reg on that is older but not newer letters not used on the old prefix system were U, Q, O, I and Z probably because they were too much like other digits although Q plates were used for unknown aged vehicles

basically yes ! you will need to get any loose or flaking paint off rub down with wet and dry until you have a nice smooth surface, making sure that any remaining paint is mat which will give the primer a key then primer, rub down again till smooth then paint, rub down until smooth and mat then lacquer use different grades of wet and dry getting higher grit as you go on,

However you and I both know that any plate is only worth what someone will pay for it, however like many commodities that have no use, there will always be someone who will pay for the perceived prestige of individuality. So no I'm not saying that a plate off an old car is worthless, but other than the way that a reg plate identifies a motor car, it is pretty pointless. all my company vehicles have "private" plates, they either say the name of the company or have a connection with the company's work gimicky yes, but people notice and remember another scenario is when someone says they saw a plate on a car, they then name the car and its plate, whereas with an ordinary plate they only ever recite the car

wouldn't be much of a space saver though !

not sure what space saver would come with the IS but they are normally a smaller diameter with a high profile tyre to cope with the reduced width

What happened to the S/C IS350 though ??? It won't fit to our cars. I know that. It wasn't what I meant at all. I wanted to know if Dave's imported IS350 is still running OK with the Tom's S/C or has it expired? Sorry As far as i know it's running like a charm. TOM'S is a very reliable tuner shop. Until June this year there are going to be two other S/C kits available for the IS250 one from US and another one from SA but the tuners don't have TOM'S reputation. I can confirm the S/C IS350 is running as sweet as a nut :D hasn't got any problems nor has it had any as far as I know Dave is interested in selling it to pursue other projects

the reason it would fail an MOT is because the poster lives in Portugal, where MOT's are a lot stricter than in the UK, to the point they insist a car is standard ! IS300 do come in a manual version, although rare and only available from the USA, but they are a lot cheaper out there and have the steering wheel on the wrong side to suit Portugal ! so might be worth trying to import one

nice colour :D should try and keep it near to the original colour or look at painting all the bits which dont get seen to often, engine bay, boot, door sills/shuts etc

speedos are allowed to be out, i think its about 10% but they must over read, not under read
