Got one of the Carlinkit units which look identical to yours, not put much effort into installing it yet due to the weather and I’m a lazy old sod, but had a quick try. Tried to install the software, Autokit.apf file via the USB port, but couldn’t access the file. The system would only look for music or picture files. Oh well, something to do to keep me occupied when it’s nicer outside.

Hold the wiper stalk in the up position, intermittent wipe, for a couple of seconds immediately after switching the ignition/engine off. Wipers will move to clear the bonnet. This is for the latest model.

Pump replaced and car washed, plus £25 worth of fuel put into the tank. Usual great service by Lexus Edinburgh.

Just received a letter this morning advising on a recall to replace the in tank fuel pump. First I’ve heard of it, but car booked in next Wednesday to get it done. Anyone else had this notification through the DVLA.

There should be a way to move the arms so they can be lifted from the screen, but I don’t know the procedure on the GS. For the RX, switch off the engine and then hold the wiper control up in the single wipe position until the arms move up the screen. This has to be done within a few seconds of the ign being switched off. Someone will be along soon to let you know the procedure.

I didn’t like the prospect of using the goo, so I bought one of these. O.K. For a simple nail/screw type puncture in the tread area to get you home.

As it’s a 68 plate I’d be asking them to sort it out..

You might want to fit a “powermagic pro” you can set it so it keeps the camera powered when the car is parked and then it monitors the battery level and switches off at a preset level.

Fitted a front and rear one into mine, tucked all the cables under the trim and wired it up to a live feed in the fuse box under the glove box. First had it in my IS, transferred it to my NX and then onto my RX.

Dug out the paperwork for the last renewal and it’s dated Nov 2019, better start looking for the latest card. Thanks Barry.

Car booked in for its second service next week and I just wanted to check my LOC membership to obtain the discount. Membership card has Nov 2019 date sticker on the back but I’m unsure if this is the issue date or the expiry date. Can anyone confirm which one it is as any discount from £520 is very welcome to my wallet.

They probably will have a “mechanical “ sensor on the pads, just a little tab which rubs on the disc when the pads getting low. You’ll hear a squealing noise when this happens.

Remember to pump the the brake pedal before you move the car. This will get the callipers/pads back into the correct setting, but importantly only pump the pedal with very short presses as you don’t want to trigger the valve which splits the braking system front to rear.
