  1. You had not one, but IS200Ts? And how was it for you? (Generally there's not a lot of love for this model here.)
  2. Estate car format altogether more useful than SUV, esp when deploying roof rack where ready access is required, eg to bicycles
  3. Good to see the love for the old IS250. We long-time owners still hanging in there — I look forward to seeing mine roll over the 100K miles mark in a month or two, just about run-in now as they say!
  4. Agree, mostly. On the other hand, Toyota Corolla is basically 90% of the car 90% of car buyers actually need.
  5. Oh dear. Sounds pretty scary. Good you are unharmed! Pity about the car tho.
  6. It does look handsome, and no doubt would further provoke the young bucks down here in the West Country who like to get up real close to my rear, to show off their form. Desert Sage Met, izzit? I did not know that. I drove into a hedge recently (some of the lanes down here are very narrow and overgrown) attempting to avoid some berk blundering along in a big SUV, and scratched the nearside. As luck would have it, I was introduced to a neighbour whose hobby is fine cars (he owns an unique Aston Martin Vantage) and who likes nothing better than to spend a morning detailing. He polished out all the scratches so that side of the car is now better than new. The kindness of strangers eh?
  7. Ah, your car is the same colour as mine. Presumably you had this new skirt piece painted?
  8. Unf this is true of my car. No major damage but for a gouge in the front passenger doorskin which took a lot of blowing over. The contrast between the door and the front wing, still in its original 2007 paint, is all too apparent.
  9. Michelin CrossClimate here, so far so good. But I am not a rowdy driver
  10. Good choice! and welcome!
  11. Anyone here know this car, for sale in Oxon? FLSH, apparently, but four previous owners...? https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202305047001343
  12. It certainly is striking in that blue! Colour palette of current Lexus is so dull: silver, grey, and black is what buyers seem to want. Yet it is not so monochrome as Toyota. I came past a big dealership in Essex (on the bike, since you ask) and every single car out front was in the same 'fashionable' grey. Boring!
  13. The specific point Linas makes about matched tyres is a good indicator in my opinion
  14. Also Mk2 styling is completely original and perfectly proportioned. Mk3 is well proportioned but its detailing is generic house style. Just my opinion! Also: unsought by thieves, not even for the hard-to-reach catalytic converter.
  15. I had the car touched up quite a lot by PaintChip in Brent Cross. Now after about three years, there is a noticeable difference between the panels that were painted and those that were not. They tried hard tho and restored the front door panel which had a nasty gash, so full marks for trying. I notice they now have a branch in Cranleigh and this might suit you.
  16. I have just this moment committed to buy a new home so replacing the dear old IS250 has been hacked into the long grass...
  17. What a lovely example! I have never seen that interior in a UK IS250. Also, great reg if you are fan of Electronic Dance Music...
  18. In this context, it would be interesting to know how many former owners of GS, IS, RC and LC have found nothing that meets their need in the current Lexus line-up, so owned up and bought Toyota Corolla.
