  1. Haha, no. I like people that will have a go, there's plenty of help out there. YouTube is utterly brilliant. Good luck take photos as you go, it'll be fine.
  2. Another theory was the door catch rattling on the "U" lock on the door jam. The remedy as to apply masking tape to the U lock to make it fatter therefore stopping the door lock rattle.
  3. It's nothing to do with the current Foreign Secretary you'll be glad to know. https://www.bojoinc.com/
  4. Don't they just pop off using a suitable Bojo type instrument? The one called "audio" by prising the gap near to the "o" and then you'll get purchase on the one next to it. Thats what I've done on other cars, Lexus shouldn't be much different, I will stand being corrected.
  5. Back in the day we used to strip the starter motor and clean the sticking solenoid when we had got fed up of hitting it with a hammer, they were easily accessible. Now you sometimes having trouble finding it under the cluttered bonnet. If you don't want to be under the bonnet while stranded in the middle of nowhere, I believe it's best either to replace with either a new one, or a refurbished one from a trusted source. We've replace started motors and alternators on our family cars with refurbished, been fine.
  6. Mine has different sized tyres on front and rear, Advance, the spec for the tyres are in your door jam on a sticker along with the tyre pressures. The reason has been discussed before but I can't remember the reason behind it
  7. I get confused when people report a seized calliper. Is it the sliding pin that's seized? which most of the time I would imagine can be unseized. Or is it the actual pistons, which would either require a strip down and refurb or new calliper, which may be cheaper. Is this made clear to customers?
  8. I may set myself up as a Lexus brake calliper repairman. It seems there's a market, because Lexus dealers don't check and remedy the issue during a service. Not on mine anyway when the previous owner had it serviced under warranty.
  9. I did look them up after I had read your post, used to have one for the house in the '80s, didn't know they made them for cars.
  10. I'm with Steve on this, road surface is the main issue. We have a brand new road surface near me and at the weekend I drove over it, could hear a pin drop in the car. So the tyres are ok. <2000 rpm at 70 on my car.
  11. They are good deals, I use them all the time, but you have to be aware that some of the deals are "staged" and as long as you're aware, that's ok.
  12. OEM parts are not made by the car manufacturers, they are parts used by the car manufacturers and come from various sources as mentioned by sorcerer. If people believe all parts on Lexus cars are manufactured by Lexus they are deluded.
  13. I don't know that the 30% is a good deal, it's an offer that when you look is usually similar to this: Brakes pads sold for £30 normally. RRP £39. This weekend only, 30% off RRP. Bargain.......
  14. It's the same old story on this site, Lexus branded parts and Lexus technicians are the best, based on what.......they cost more....pffft. There are dozens of world renown brands of filters, oils, brake pads, batteries, but where do the sheep go running to? Lexus and pay over the odds.
  15. It's been discussed many many times. If you target the LOC site by using this URL in your search engine you'll find plenty of information. site:lexusownersclub.co.uk service plans
  16. Good article Cleanliness is the one of the most important things when replacing brake discs, I've done a few. Clean the hub of dirt and rust before putting on a new disc and then clean again. Any rust or dirt can effect the disc running true. As you Pete, I've never had a warped disc, worn discs yes, but never warped.
  17. I sometimes think it's the way a lot of Lexus owners drive, I don't drive as fast in the Lexus as I did in my 159. I waft along sometimes finding I'm driving too slow and have to put my foot down.
