  1. That car looks brand new. How can that be after all those miles. Must have really been looked after.
  2. Thanks Herbs. It looks very neat and compact and the video is excellent at explaining the features etc.
  3. Sami said on 6th July on another thread that he'd bought Toyota Tyre Fitting Kit 04423-02010 for his GS wheels. I'm having my wheels refurbished next week and I'd like to buy 4 Tyre Fitting Kits just in case the old ones are damaged when they are removed. Is the above part number the correct one for the GS300 (2007)? Can't find it for sale in the U.K. There are plenty of 'TPMS Tyre Fitting Kit' for sale but how do I know which ones to buy? Has anyone on here bought what I want in the UK? Sami who started the other thread appears not to live in the UK. Thanks.
  4. Steve, Yes, I did ask! and you've done me proud with your very detailed (pun not intended) answer. One more question re microfibre cloths. I use some very fine ones specially designed for drying-off the glass and the AmazonBasics Large Thick Drying Towel (Pack of 2) for drying-off the body panels. What type(s) do you use? Thanks again.
  5. Peter. I see you and Steve (SH20) both had videos taken of your new ESs on delivery to the dealer and both in Yorkshire. Same dealer I wonder? It would be nice if all the dealers did this. Very nice looking cars.
  6. Steve. What exactly did you do to detail your new ES? Which products etc? Thanks.

  8. I'm looking at the possibility of having front and rear parking sensors fitted to my wife's Honda Jazz (2005). Can't find any useful information on the Honda forums so thought I'd ask the good people here if they have any experience/knowledge of having them fitted to any make of car? I'd probably get a quote from the local Honda dealership and the indie we use for servicing or might it be better to find someone specialising in car electrics? Any pointers appreciated. Thanks. P.S. it won't be a DIY job!
  9. Paint looks superb! Do you know exactly what they did and what they used?
  10. I've got a 2007 GS300 and it's a dream to drive. I'll probably keep it forever!
  11. John, Had you had previous experience of using a soldering iron? I believe the batteries have to be soldered to the connectors. I've never been very good at soldering! I suppose practice makes perfect. Also is there any particular brand of battery better than others. I'm amazed that mine are still working and the car is 12 years old.
  12. Never had a problem with Tesco unleaded during the last 10 years ownership of my GS300 and a tank lasts me for ages as I do a low annual mileage. Mostly journeys of about 5 miles (10 miles round trip) with occasional 70 mile to 200 mile motorway journeys. No idea what revs it gets to, I just drive it and enjoy the luxury of it.
  13. Thanks everyone for your help. I've now found the 19" ones. I've two options from ECP at vey similar prices. Denso Hybrid 19"/24" pair at £20.34 or Bosch AeroTwin Retrofit 19"/24" pair at £18.69 with the current discount MID60 code.
  14. On the ECP website I entered my reg. number and it identified my 2007 GS300 correctly but the Denso Hybrid Blades suggested are 20" Left and 24" Right. No problem with the Right one as my exiting one measures 23 5/8" so I think that's probably close enough, but my existing Left one measures 18 3/4" and they suggest 20" which is 1 1/4" longer. Anyone got any thoughts on this? Just wondering if the 20" and 24" figures are approximate?
  15. Which brand/model of windscreen wiper blades do forum members prefer? I need a set for my GS300 model year 2007 (and a set for my wife's Honda Jazz model year 2005). I just did a quick search on Google for reviews, carbuyer.co.uk and autoexpress.co.uk both suggest 1st choice Bosch Aerotwin with a rating of 5/5, 2nd choice Aerowiper with a rating of 4/5, 3rd choice Trico ExactFit with a rating of 4/5. All with one adaptor apparently to fit any vehicle. Have any of you used these ones or is there a specific Lexus one (Honda one). Just want some guidance so that I don't waste money on inferior ones. Also where best to buy from, I've seen somewhere on this forum suggested eurocarparts and carparts4less. Thanks.
  16. That's really not fair play is it. If you'd been driving your own car on your own insurance you'd have had to pay say £90 windscreen replacement excess not £1,000. I've often thought that the £1,000 insurance excess when driving a courtesy car is a bit outrages, but if it has to be, they at least should only apply say £90 excess for a replacement windscreen on the basis that that is what your own insurers would apply. Also, would it be cost effective to add a courtesy car to your own insurance and would the excesses on your own insurance apply to the courtesy car? Just thinking of a way to avoid the £1,000 excess applied by Lexus in the event that the worst happens. I'd be interested opinions of forum members on this topic.
  17. On the Carista site I can only see GS 4th Gen 2012. Can't see any reference to Gen 3 for GS300 or GS450h.
  18. Thanks for the suggestion, but I've looked on the Carista website under Supported Vehicles and for the Lexus GS it appears only to be supported from 4th Generation year 2012.
  19. My hearing isn't what it was, so I decided to look into increasing the volume of the parking sensors and the turn signal indicators on my 2007 GS300. Success with the parking sensors! BUT I can't find anything in the handbook about increasing the volume of the indicators. It's probably not possible, or is it? Any ideas?
