  1. Sorry gents for the late reply. Just picked the car up and another straight pass on the MOT with no advisories. Service was carried out and the tracking was done to Lexus factory settings after Christchurch Tyres(now Protyre/crap) really messed it up using there Hunter equipment. Yes it’s correct I’m using Lexus Poole as I have done for the last 6 years. I’ve never until now had any problems with them (sadly now taken over by the Hendy group). They phoned Lexus HQ today to seek advice ref the gearbox oil change. Lexus told them that it shouldn’t be done at all because of what they said previously blah blah blah. Also because I have an extended warranty on the CT that if anything happened to the gearbox and they changed the oil previously when told not to then I would be liable for repairs/cost. So I’m leaving this well alone on that advice. Under there Westover rule they were fine but things have certainly changed with Hendy but as of yet apart from this I can’t really fault them. Anyway a few pics of the loan CT they gave me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Took the CT in for its service and MOT(6th one) at my usual local dealer. I requested the tracking to be done and a gearbox oil change (it’s on 107K). They tried to play the “it’s sealed for life” bull and “you can’t change the oil on those and it’s not part of a service schedule “ I laughed at him and told him he can’t be serious. I showed him this photo of the gearbox displaying the oil drain and fill plug which is by the sump plug also. He phoned the workshop to ask them for a quote of time etc. They replied it needed a special tool and oil (partly right) but to top it all said the gearbox needs to be removed and supported under the car so they can gain access. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing so told them to forget this and that I thought it was terrible that they didn’t even know what to do. I’ve told him I’m going to book it in to my Toyota dealer to do as they said they do this regularly on the Prius. Sorry to rant on but it’s ridiculous that a 30 min job,3.5ltrs of oil and a half inch drive and open access to it and they tell me this crap. Just beware of your dealer if you decide to get this done on yours. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Last year I had 4 Kumho tyres fitted. They’re reasonably priced and are very quiet. It’s a much more pleasant drive now. Previous to these I had it’s original Goodyears and they were hard noisy and terrible for grip. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I had this once in the winter of 2017 and it’s never done it since. I use fuel injector cleaner every other fuel fill and the system is very clean now. Sometimes you’ve got to drive them hard as they’ll get coked up quickly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Replaced mine a month ago. It lasted 8 years, not bad at all. I fitted a genuine Yuasa battery I got from GSF car parts. It’s very easy and quick to fit. I lost no settings in the car. The battery was disconnected for about 5 mins. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. This is good to know for the future. Thanks for sharing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Buy Heko ones they’re excellent and not expensive like Lexus ones. I think they’re the best I’ve bought and seen around. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. It’s a complete unit looking on a parts catalogue for it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Google brings this up if it helps. https://www.carobdcodes.com/lexus-p0108-manifold-absolute-pressure-sensor-circuit-high-voltage.shtml Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. When I replaced my rear bumper you have to remove them for this to happen. They’re easy to remove and you can clean behind them then. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I didn’t find the ride much different to mine to be honest. They both had 17” wheels too. I know the gearbox was slightly better as there wasn’t so much high engine revving during quicker acceleration. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I have a 2011 SE L Premier with every option incl ML sound system. Awesome car and so comfortable. I don’t need boot space which is lacking on these. It’s on 106K now and is faultless. MPG in my opinion is much better on the pre facelift compared to the later ones. I did have a couple of CT,s as courtesy cars whilst mine was being serviced (later models) and found the ride no different to mine. Yes it’s a bit harsh on 17” wheels but certainly better than other manufacturers that I’ve driven. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  14. Asking the same. It shouldn’t be using any oil between changes. My 2011 is on 106K and doesn’t lose any. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. How is the running now after you’ve done this ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. If the chain doesn’t chatter leave it alone. (Highly unlikely it does). There’s no servicing to be done to it. Most things wear out over time so just check suspension items for play or perished bushes etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Wow I’ve never seen one at all like that. Mines a 2011 and still looks new underneath. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. All mirror covers are the same from 2011>> Obviously except for colour. I’ve taken my N/S mirror apart before. Use a trim removal tool to lever the mirror glass out. Behind there is 4 or 5 screws (sorry can’t remember)which releases the rear cover and surround. When refitting the glass push it back into place in the centre until you hear it click. 19. You can make them yourself out of MDF. Save you some money [emoji1360] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Yes I know. All the dealers are closed including Toyota and I have no choice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. The one I got is 45ah. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I went for YUASA as didn’t want Lion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Just changed my battery after 8 years the original packed up. The replacement is a YUASA which is identical to what I removed. I got it from GSF car parts for £156 after 60% discount (online). Euro Car Parts sell them also (made by Lion) but is more expensive. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. No all the Lexus and Toyota dealers around me are all closed down temporarily. I got it today from GSF car parts and using there code I got 60% off leaving me to pay £156. It’s a genuine YUASA battery which is identical to the original one I removed. Very easy job took only 10 mins. The car only lost the time and kept all other settings eg: radio channels, phone. Everything is back to normal [emoji1360] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. The battery is 8 years old now and in poor health. I think I’ll change it to be safe. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
