  1. Hopefully the drive back to Sheffield after I've picked up my Accord will be uneventful!
  2. Apparently the weak point on these are the auto gearboxes. There was some sort of class action in the US and Honda had their wrists slapped. After cleaning the first job will be two or three drain and fills of the transmission fluid.
  3. Previously the units I've purchased from them have come with everything you need for wireless streaming and calls. Obviously you need to make sure you get the correct included cable. I don't have any experience with your year of RX or the Mark Levinson system so probably best to check with them. You mention charging too but I never optioned that.
  4. Just shy of 130k. To be honest I've got my hands full with the Saab and I'm losing some storage but I just couldn't help it.
  5. Really? I guess I must have just spoken to Pete. He certainly seemed to know his stuff.
  6. I'd recommend the GROM units too. I've had a few and they're easy to fit. And their tech support/seller is based in the UK and very happy to chat over the phone if you're unsure about compatibility.
  7. The pictures flatter it a little A good 5 yarder I reckon.
  8. The devil makes work for idle hands and all that... Picking it up later this week. I know the Accords are popular on here. Any thoughts chaps?
  9. Hope you haven't been scared off Hugh. In a nutshell, fit or keep whichever tyre and wheel combination you're happy with so long as they're standard IS250 fitment. An IS250 is an IS250.
  10. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the Ignore User button works extremely well.
  11. Sorry, no experience of the cordless stuff. I run a commercial cleaning company so my criteria is durability, cost and ease of repair. I probably own around 60 Numatic/Henry vacs because they're tough enough to cope with all sorts of abuse, can be easily fixed if the do break and can be picked up for around 100 quid. At home we have a Vax upright which is superior to the Dyson in every way.
  12. Dyson vacuum cleaner without a doubt. I'm "in the trade" as it were and already knew they were very iffy but for some reason was seduced by a substantial discount from John Lewis. Put up with it for a year or too and got rid.
  13. Hi Josef. Fitting a battery is pretty straight forward but if you're unsure have a look for a local battery specialist. Someone who only supplies batteries. They're usually happy to fit. Alternatively your nearest Euro Car Parts will no doubt offer the same service. Or you could just go to your nearest Lexus dealer. You'll know the battery is correct for the car, they're usually competitively priced but not sure how much they'd charge for fitting.
  14. I've always used contact cleaner. And I've always got some handy for the many electrical gremlins the Saab throws up.
  15. Thought this may interest one or two of you. Interesting that Toyota/Lexus are involved. https://www.mynewsdesk.com/uk/metpoliceuk/news/police-operation-to-stop-thefts-of-catalytic-converters-423914
  16. Sounds likely but the £160 seems very steep. I think the exchange value on the Lucas alternator I got from ECP for my LS was about £30.
  17. I think some of you are selling this short. I'd happily pay £5k for that. Sub-£4k is way off. One thing to note is that after this year it's Super Unleaded only.
  18. +1 for a tiny bit of copper grease on the valve stems. BMWs always used to come with metal caps and were a bugger to get off.
  19. Mine has patchy main dealer history but it does have a couple of stamps from Lexus on the Isle of Man around the age and mileage they would have drained and filled as a matter of course. Mine has now done 65k and so I did what I assume would have been its second drain and fill last week. What came out was still quite red.
  20. 2ltr-ish drain and fill every 36k according to the service book for my MK3 LS400. Does it mention it in the LS430 book? Regardless, if there's no record of it being done before and the gears are shifting fine I'd think hard before doing it. And really if there's no record of it being done then you'd need to drain and fill at least half a dozen times in succession to make any real difference to the quality of the fluid.
