Is a remap possible?
Mr Vlad replied to jumpingjehovahs's topic in RX 300 / RX 350 / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h Club
Worst mpg I've had in mine is 22 when speeding down the M62 home from Leeds. Best I've had is 38.5 going to leeds but keeping to the speed limits. Fully laden my car got just over 30mpg to Skegness and back to leeds. That was damn excellent considering the car was Fully laden. I don't know where honest John real mpg for the 450h figure come from. I suppose it is possible to average mid to high 40's but that would need hybrid trained driving. The 450h is Not the wrong car for economy runs. Imagine the car without its hybrid. Mpg would be constantly low 20's. Don't worry about your mpg. Just enjoy your fabulous car. -
Oh yes Piers it's surprising just how dirty seats get especially white/cream ones. Damn good stuff that Autoglym.

Car off the road for 6 weeks
Mr Vlad replied to Summerbj's topic in RX 300 / RX 350 / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h Club
His Brian. Wishing you a speedy recovery on your knee. Now then what level is showing on the battery level display? If it's low then you just may have to start the car and let it run until it stops by its self perhaps once a fortnight. If the level is showing full then you can leave the car alone as no use means no battery drain enough to cause concern. -
RX450h Spark plug change
Mr Vlad replied to Barry7's topic in RX 300 / RX 350 / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h Club
Blimey 4 hours if you cracking on? What makes changing the plugs take so long? Good job done none the less. Well done. -
Goodbye Is300h F sport

Niiiiiiiiiice. I'd like the RC but family stops that lol. As mentioned it would be good to get your comparisons between the two. Happy motoring. -
Flat battery - surprising
Mr Vlad replied to BaransuIS250's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Of my 25 car history 3 of which were/is lexus hybrid the others had a mixed history with batteries. My trips were short but not as short as yours Dominic. It sounds like the battery didn't stand a chance. More was taken from it than given. Plus possibly it wasn't 100% when new. -
450h - blind spot monitor
Mr Vlad replied to Habu's topic in RX 300 / RX 350 / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h Club
I now have a F sport RX450h without blind spot mirrors and can honestly say the mirrors I have are superb. Absolutely no need for that useless gimmick blind spot. I'm a professional hgv driver by the way. -
rx400h mileage question
Mr Vlad replied to Ianianian's topic in RX 300 / RX 350 / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h Club
Hi. If the car looks like it's been looked after, you know what I mean, and there is some Lexus service history and it drives as you expect (if not better) then go for it. I'm guessing it's not from a Lexus dealer but giving it them to service and check it won't do any harm (except your wallet but worth it). I think the 400h is a 3.0 litre V6 (correct me if I'm wrong ) but still the Toyota derived V6 is a stonker of an engine and at 116k miles is nearly run in. -
Well not long back from a week away at Skegness with the wife, youngest daughter (she turned 30 this week ) and her 2 kids one being nearly 3 and in a baby seat. 5 occupants and a weeks worth of luggage. Wow what a huge boot. One Large holdall, three medium holdalls, one Large suitcase, and God knows how many carrier bags. Below are a couple of pics. Oh and a fold up buggy lol. The car behaved superb. So comfy and quick where it had to be. Stuck to the limits going there but definitely not on the way back lol. Got overtook by an 18 plate RX450h whilst I was doing 80. Hee hee I flew past it a couple miles later. I'm more than happy with the economy. Overall my car returned 30mpg which is excellent and what my diesel ford's did! Oh. I've mentioned about my cars service history and how Leeds Lexus were supposed to do a 40k service at about half price. Well a few emails were exchanged because they list paperwork for the Smart bodywork insurance I bought (thick bu**ars) and I mentioned the service. Did I get a rey on that? Did I eckers like. They'll not see my car again. Stockport will look after my car. Anyway below I hope are a couple of FULL boot pics. Bottom pic shows boot FULL even bog roll lol and buggy. Top pic is showing the very large suitcase with 2 of the medium holdalls. The large holdall is in front of the blue holdall to the right of the suitcase. Hope this post helps with what can fit in the boot at least. Oh forgot to mention. Nothing packed in the boot came above halfway of the headrests except the coats. Have to think safety.

Hi and welcome to the forum Liam. Good choice of car. Coming from a diesel will be a Big change. I've had 2 premiums one was utter c**p yet the latest was fantastic. Chopped it in for the RX450h for the boot space and getting 3 comfortably in the back. Enjoy your car and know should you get any problems with it or any questions you'll get honest concise answers quickly. -
That's good. It's quite amazing how many variations of keyfob internals for basically the same car there are.
-
Eh up Steve. Video doesn't work on mobile but to get to the battery in the fob of a 3rd gen RX450h you take out the key and slide off the cover and exposed is part of the board with a small plate covering the battery which requires a very small cross head driver to remove 4 screws. Hopefully I've attached a photo

Mobile App for remote lock/unlock
Mr Vlad replied to Megatron's topic in RX 300 / RX 350 / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h Club
What? A mobile app to unlock a car door?????. That is pure bonkers. What's wrong with simply walking up to your car and opening it by hand? **** they'll be developing an app to wipe your ***** next rofl -
On what car? I've seen a few keyfob battery replacement videos and none used a screwdriver at all. You have to be careful tho because of the actual buttons and the circuit board. Seems more pieces in a lexus keyfob than any other I've had.

Check the condition of the used unit carefully. It may not be much younger than the one you have. Make a note of all what's written on the back of the unit and see what other units with the same spec are available. £450 for a sub speaker of quality is a good price. In the past I've spent more to get the required sound. There is an American upgrade which if memory serves is around £1300. Comes with amp and new shelf mind.

Door speakers

Yup sounds like a good idea and to get a 2nd opinion. Making blanking plates to fit a tweeter isn't so bad to do. See how much BCSS would charge. Looked on their site and very impressive. If they can't help/advise then no one can. -
