  1. I' going to hijack this thread because high service costs were mentioned. My car will be serviced by my local Toyota dealer. Main service £330 Intermediate £180 Now thats most agreeable don' you think.
  2. I'l put this info on this post as it' most relevant. My car will Not be serviced by Any Lexus garage. Instead it'll be serviced by Toyota. Full service is £330.00 and intermediate is £180.00. Plus they'l do it when You want it doing i.e. in my case yearly @ 1.2k miles. Genuine parts used. If spark plugs need doing then they're charged for. No sweat there. Contact your local Toyota dealer. However they don' do service plans but at those prices who needs one.
  3. Hello Bernie. Just read your thread with interest. I think you'l not like the IS300HI initially because of the CVT box. I' on my 2nd is300h in the space of 14 months. 1st one lasted 5 weeks because of the CVT and the ride and other niggles. The car was a Premier Premium. I chopped it in for a ford mondeo titanium x sport ecoboost which had an auto box (great training for a CVT). So most definitely get a 24 hour test. My current car is a Premier Premium and I knew what to look out for. I knew I wanted this car within a few minutes (after deliberately hitting a pothole ) as the car responded superbly. Economy for a petrol car is very good. I' in my 3rd week now of ownership and am still getting used to it. Going up motorway hills needs the loud pedal pressing more than the 1/4 I do normally. However in sport mode and with some juice in the batteries and you floor it beyond the detant in its travel then it flies. Rev counter goes to 6000 revs and it sounds great and is almost as quick as my previous mondeo. The ride is sublime and so comfortable and quiet. The sound system is really good. I suggest getting quite a few 'short' test drives from either lexus dealers or independants or see if you can hire one for a weekend. Let us know how you get on.
  4. You know what PaulWhitt since my last 4 cars in 6 years have been keyless entry and start I've forgotten that I have buttons on my fob lol. Cheers for your post And the fact it' a good way to check the car is locked. Heads up to you pal :-)
  5. Thanks Rayaans. I thought as much. I can' understand how a 'luxury ' car maker doesn't have all 4 doors wired in the keyless entry mode. Crikey I've had 4 of my last 5 fords which had all 4 doors in the keyless entry mode, ok they were top spec cars but none the less. Come on lexus get your rear ends into action.
  6. Do any is300h owners with keyless entry have the function to open the rear doors before any of the front ones? I'm suprised my premier premium doesn't have that. My previous fords with keyless entry I could open the rear doors and the other doors would open. Is there a setting within the car to enable rear door keyless opening?
  7. Thought I'd post latest info. I googled this problem and found a site specific to the note 4. A few problems to do with Bluetooth and one cure is to clear the cashe within the phones bluetooth. I was thinking today that it may be an app on my phone messing some things up. Since my main issue is with Spotify I thought it could be that. Anyway I cleared the cashe and now I can receive texts and emails to my car whether I'm playing a CD or listening to the radio and music from spotify. Happy days But track listing still don't change when the next track plays. Clicking on the pause or play buttons have no effect. My phone is bluetooth version 4 but the cars bluetooth is version 1. Blimey before this lexus I've had 5 fords ranging from 12 plate to 64 plate and each one performed flawlessly on Bluetooth with my note 4. So I'm wondering why such an old and unreliable version of Bluetooth is being used by lexus. The mind boggles.
  8. Thanks again folks. I did notice a big drop in wind noise this morning. It wasn't' raining. Maybe when it rains it gets a wind noise (won't have long to wait for that here lol)
  9. I' have thought they could program a new key to your car. Blimey Ford can.
  10. Interesting. I have noticed a kind of spoiler type thing at the top of the door rubber. Same on the passenger side. Makes me wonder if that induces a wind noise at a certain speed.
  11. Thanks guys. Much appreciated. Malcolm I get it in both wet and dry conditions. I did think tho that maybe there's a spec of dirt or similar in the window seal seat. I'l have a look after work. Thanks again.
  12. Does anyone else suffer a wind noise from their is300h's drivers door window? I'e just noticed that at speeds above 60mph there's a wind noise coming from the top of the drivers door. I' looking for both yes there is a wind noise and no not on mine replies. Many thanks
  13. Try using a leather food/cleaner regularly and you shouldn't have to swap seats round.
  14. Yes I forgot to mention the 4 cars breaking down scenario. I find that hard to believe and more of a fob off. I' going to test the dealer I bought my is300h from due to bluetooth issues and rear view camera not showing up on the screen.
  15. Thas bad luck. As for that stain. Is it not possible for you to take out the seat yourself? Have you looked underneath directly below where the stain is?
  16. Seconded. I assume you want to do the job yourself but get some advice from a car alarm specialist. Fitting a tracker properly will take a few hours. As stated above the tracker should be well hidden which means your job is hard in that it'll involve disassembling your interior.
  17. Might be your age ikeja. I found mine only this weekend and that's after one weeks ownership.
  18. I'm not a business user. The car is actually mine and private use only. My commute is 28 miles 5 times one week and 6 the next and a trip to Leeds from Rochdale at weekends. I personally like the idea of an oil change every 6k miles, it's something I've done to everyone of my cars both turbo and none turbo. It's just me as I care about my cars engines. I'm also a lover of ZX1 and all my cars have had it. My engines have been mint. As said I'll contact Stockport Lexus about a personalised service plan.
  19. Good info Rayaans and accurate. My car did have a service before I picked it up. My service quote is for Full 40, intermediate 50 and Full 60k and cost is £1345. I think that's fair enough however I'll contact the dealer as if service intervals are every 10k miles then I'll have to negotiate a service plan once a year at around 13k a year mileage. I'll specify that an engine oil change will happen at 6k intervals at someone like kwikfit.
  20. Oh? Well my car is a 64 plate with just 21.2k miles on it. I'll have a proper read of the offer when I have time and report back.
  21. Hi Rizmo. Just read your post. Go on the Castrol website and you'll find your answer there and for engine oil too.
  22. I've been sent details of a service plan over 3 years costing £1300. That's for 2 inters and 1 major. I'll have to find out if at this price all filters and plugs are included.
  23. Personally I'd stay well clear of cheap none genuine phone chargers. I've had 2 phones knackered by them. As above have said use a (genuine to your phone) cig lighter socket charger.
  24. Hi Tel. Thanks for your input. How can I find out what version software my car has? I do happen to have another phone to try but my note 4 connects successfully to my earpiece and tv soundbar and connected to my last 3 cars with no issues at all. But out of curiosity I'll try a Samsung s5 that I have.
  25. Pardon my ignorance but is this firmware update for satnav only or for Bluetooth also?
