I got Phillips Bluevision for all fronts (main, dip, fogs and sides)...... not overly impressed with them, undoubtedly a whiter light but that's about it..... also the fogs didn't last very long for some reason (12 months max I'd say....... they were the H3's from memory as they changed from 2001 onwards) so I'm expecting the other bulbs to follow suit............. Gonna get my old headlight bulbs (when I find them) and do the 9005 / 9006 conversion......... I used to have 80watt bulbs in my Avensis and as far as I'm concerned if you want more light without going for HIDs increasing the wattage is the only way you'll get noticeable results IMHO

@ Nicnac If Honda are the best overall Jap manufacturer why didn't you buy an Accord? If it's speed you were after (you mentioned the Civic would ***** all over the IS200) why didn't you buy a Scooby? What exactly were you looking for when you bought the Lex? (I'm not arguing with you BTW, just trying to understand your rationale :mat: )

Fluff, So I checked the rad / expansion tank levels and all seems ok there........... gurgling is getting worse so must be heating matrix then? Will Lexus know all about this issue? Is it common problem? If I just mention it when dropping in for service should they be able to fix? Not a big deal I hope? Sent dealer emil with pics re corroding alloys so want to get service done and alloys replaced in one go.

My last two tanks I avaraged 23.5mpg Car is used mainly to and from work in fairly heay traffic, its a 17 mile trip which takes circa 1 hr +/- 15 mins depending on traffic I'm not sedate either and when I get an opening i'm gone ....... Has been fairly cold here too during the last couple of weeks but has had no adverse effects on mpg for me

Pardon my stupidity but why the load resistors? Are the bulbs above recomended wattage or something? Will the clear 7440s fit in the front indicators cos I don't have the indicator mod?

I'd have bought the car anyway if it was Toyota :D I have had 4 Toyotas and (in a momentary laspe) a Mitsubishi............. and never had any serious problems with any of them, there is no disputing Jap reliability From the first glimpse I saw of the IS in 99 (at that stage I had the Carisma) I immediately thought to myself "I want one of those!"...... don't think I even knew who made it......... then I found out it was a LEXUS........ that just sealed it for me cos in summary you have A) The unmistakeable looks B) The reliability synonomous with Toyota C) The Lexus prestige Slam dunk!

Very same happened to me for the first time the other night driving home....... I thought one of the clips for the wiper refill had come undone or something and to be honest completely forgot about it ever since.......... just reading the original post it struck me thats what it was cos it only happened at higher speed

I saw one in a less than desireable olive-ish colour in a Dublin showroom as I was passing yesterday................ nearly crashed rubber-necking at it So thinking that all the dealers would have one I went to my nearest dealer at lunchtime today drooling at the prospect of having a proper look........... nada, zero, zip, nil, squat ......... probably just as well cos I might have gone and done something stupid like order one :P
