  1. Ok, here goes 😁.. Almost same as here .. , - Bilt Hamber are superb products and very reasonably priced.. I do the wheels/arches first though and once a month use Bilt Hamber Auto Wheel and a coat of Chemical Guys Bare Bones for the arches. Occasional coat of Bilt Hamber Cleanser Polish followed by their brilliant Double Speed Wax. If I'm in a rush, Auto Glym Aqua Wax is great for a layer of protection (can be applied to a rinsed and still wet car) before drying off. Oh, and CarPro PERL for the interior and exterior plastics/rubber is great too !😁
  2. My go-to tyres of choice are either Bridgestone Dueller or Falken. Both have been excellent all year round tyres which I've used for the past 10 years.
  3. If you need an alternative, I've used paints4u many times including for Lexus, Mazda, Jaguar and Landrover, and always found them to be excellent. https://www.paints4u.com
  4. Interesting thread, - on the related point about trickle chargers, (I too use the CTEK MXs 5.0), is it ok to connect them to the dedicated +charging access point and appropriate -bare metal point under the bonnet rather than directly to the battery housed in the rear of the car ? I reverse into my garage so just thinking it'll be much easier to connect at the front if ok to do so. Thanks in advance. Carl.
  5. I've used paints4u.com many times in the past including for Lexus, Jaguar, Landrover, and Rover. They've always been very good colour matches in my experience.
  6. I've left it a while just to make sure but …… the noise seems to have gone. Thanks for all the suggestions. I did move the rear seats between the various positions and that does seem to have coincided with the noise disappearing so hopefully that was the cause of the issue. Cheers all, Carl.
  7. I've not driven the NX so can't comment on that model. However, although I've only owned my 2015 RX450h F sport since January and covered just about 700 miles, I can say that the RX is a very impressive and seemingly capable vehicle. The RX is comfortable, quiet, has plenty of space and loads of equipment. It's a lovely place to be too .... I'd driven a Range Rover sport supercharged for the last 10 years so probably it would be an unfair direct comparison to that vehicle but I've gotten used to the RX very quickly and can definitely say that I'm very happy with my own RX experience so far and would happily recommend it. Carl
  8. Thanks very much all for the replies on this one 👍 Carl.
  9. I tried to find clarification on this one in the manual but can't seem to see anything ... So, is the CD player in the ML Audio System a single or multi disc changer ? If it is multi, does it take 6 loaded at a time ? Car is a last of the 3rd generation RX450h F sport registered 2015. Thanks in advance. Carl.
  10. Thanks FA, I'll have a look at the '20' of the rear seats tomorrow.. Excuse the ignorance but how do I go about looking for a 'snapped coil spring' and would there be any other symptoms if this were to be the cause of the noise ? Thank you. Carl.
  11. Really interesting write up Nigel, thank you. - especially helpful to me as a new RX450H owner.. This might help you, - you can disable the keyless entry through the customizable features settings ( page 643 of the main manual refers - it worked for me ) Carl.
  12. Nigel, Les, many thanks for the replies .. Yes, main dealer acquired and I went for the additional 2 for 1 extended warranty.. I'll have a look into those suggestions.. Cheers, Carl
  13. Personally I've always been very impressed with both Bridgestone and Falken, - run them both over a ten year period and will have no hesitation using either again...
  14. As a new RX450h owner, (2015 F-sport gen3) I'm still getting used to the car but even after just a couple of weeks, really enjoying the drive and the indicated 36.1mpg... and I've only covered about 250 miles to date.. Just one minor niggle being a fairly dull knocking/pinging noise. I did originally think it was coming from the rear NS seat area but having tried to listen closely over a few miles, it could be anywhere between there and the NSF (passenger) door area. Only get it at about 33mph and above and I can only describe as something like you might hear by knocking a wooden table top lightly with a single finger knuckle. Fairly random in frequency but generally continuous at the 35mph and above. Its not excessively loud and a radio volume around 12 on the Mark Levinson system masks it. Just wondering if any one has experienced anything similar before ? Thanks in advance all. Carl.
  15. Thanks very much all for the kind welcome.. Shortlist ? - RX, F-Pace, Velar. Went for the RX because of the overall consistent positive reliability reports for Lexus, friends and family recommendations, equipment levels, space needed, and after a change in work circumstances, I was attracted to the idea of going hybrid for some significantly better fuel economy than I'd previously been used to having run a Range Rover sport for almost 10 years. Loving the RX so far.. Thanks again.
  16. Hi, I'm new to the RX world myself so this is based on my experience on other vehicles that I've run with 20" wheels. Personally I've always used Bridgestone and Falken tyres and run them on both a Range Rover sport and Jaguar XKR for 10 years and would have no hesitation myself putting either on my own RX when the time comes. Cheers.

  18. Hi all, just beginning my Lexus journey with my first one, - only a few days into owning a 2015 3Gen RX450h F-sport... pics to follow when we get some decent weather ! Never ran a hybrid before so very early days but already it seems like a great vehicle. No doubt I will have questions in due course and need much support from the experts around here so thanks in advance for the help. Carl.
