  1. I used to chase the salary - now, I'm happy with what I'm earning (no pay rise for 2 years, paying more tax and NI too). Now, what's important to me is that I and my wife and family are all healthy.
  2. Hee, Hee I switched off after 87 minutes - I'd didn't want to listen to the OTT commentary - imagine my surprise when I picked up my newspaper this morning and saw the result. :D Nae offence intended to those south of the border. I have absolutely nothing against the England team - it's those b****y commentators going on and on, 1966 this, 1966 that! Even in games not involving England, they can't help but mention David Beckham and co. :yack: :)
  3. Well, I'm 2 today - that's 2 years as a member of LOC. Doesn't time fly? Seems no time since I posted my first question - trying to find where I could buy a replacement light cluster after some **** smashed it. Zee came to the rescue and I bought one of his old ones! Here's to the next 2 years - although not as a Lexus owner! :)
  4. Following on from my bedroom entrance via the ceiling escapade back in January. I think I've managed to surpass this! We went to Ikea today to buy a new bed so took the CR-V. Bought the bed, and left the missus with the goods until I went to bring the car to the loading bay. Reversed in, put the seats down and took off the tonneau cover (so far so good). So the bed was carefully placed in and off we go all the way home. Forty miles later were there. We empty the car and put the seats up. That's when I realised the tonneau cover wasn't there. :tsktsk: Yes folks, I had taken it off and put it on the roof over the roof-bars while the car was loaded up!! Drove off with it still on the roof So off we go again back to Ikea to (hopefully) recover the thing - asked in store, drove around the car park but alas it wasn't there. So we give up and head home - me thinking about the cost of a replacement! So we're going round a roundabout and guess what should be lying in the middle of the road!! Managed to stop and retreive it and apart from a few scrapes which I can spray out, the thing is working absolutely fine! :mat:
  5. Gutted mate - I've done the same thing several years ago. It was my first ever new car, and I reversed into lampost after exactly 1 week of ownership. Ripped the rear 1/4 panel in two
  6. I'll never say never! For now though, I'm looking forward to something completly different.
  7. Well, after nearly 4 years of love it's time to part company with my IS200. On 21st July I'll be picking up my new car - Nissan 350Z. Managed to get in and take a cancelled order so avoiding the 6 month waiting list. Same as this one:
  8. I have a boot mounted one - with number plate holder.
  9. Yeah, i reckon trying to cut round that last tree too quickly might have sparked these problems off. Although I'm sure on full throttle my Honda would kill his Flymo! :D
  10. That's what I thought too, but I always check the levels before starting and it was withing it's limits.
  11. I wonder if it has VTEC? and revs to 9000RPM :D
  12. Yesterday while cutting my grass my Honda petrol mower started to bilge smoke from it's exhaust - this lasted about 20 seconds before going back to normal. I know it's not a car engine, but I guess the principals are the same - anyone got any idea what might have caused this? It's never happened before. Cheers.
  13. Don't let the Nissan badge put you off a 350Z - I was seriously thinking about the S2000 to replace mine, but I drove it yesterday and the overall experience didn't come anywhere close to the Nissan's. So much so, I've arranged another test drive for Thursday night and I'll be taking my cheque book this time! Nissan build quality is every bit as good as Lexus and in fact the interior of the 350Z is more solid than the IS. But like the S2000, it's the engine that sells this car. I'd recommend everyone take a test drive in it!
  14. Mmmm.... is it not more of a fire-blanket! It's not very configurable and I'd always use OS independant security software.
  15. Don't forget a firewall too.
  16. Do you think it will be a write-off Seriously though, you must have **** yourself when that happened - I bet you saw it all in slow motion.
  17. Yeah, I know what you mean - I'm about to do the same thing. I can honestly say it's the only car I've owned that I have not lost interest in after a couple of years. Is it healthy to be in love with a lump of metal? :)
  18. Probably because it'll be cheaper to run - over here, we really do have reason to complain about fuel costs!
  19. As much as the Skyline is a wonderful car (I'm told), it's a bit boxy for me - and is probably just too powerful - I think I would lose my licence within a couple of months. The Z although very fast is not as extreme. Raz, don't forget that 2.0 4 pot revs to 9000RPM and has 240 horses! :D
  20. Just had test drive of a 350Z and all I can say is wow - what a fantastic car. Everything about it feels so good, from the seating position to the stability at high speeds (100kp/h of course!). That engine is astonishing - I used to think the Lexus 4.3 V8 was nice, but this is better still. In gear acceleration is something to behold - I felt like I was being punched in the back at times. I felt glued to the car and the car felt glued to the road. I'm planning to take out the S2000 shortly too and then it will be decision time, but it's gonna be a tough decision if it proves as good as the Z.
