  1. Doesn't this belong under General Discussion? This has nothing to do with F cars.
  2. Just looking at my route in I go directly past Moto Cherwell Valley services on the M40, OX27 7RD. So that's one option, at least for anyone coming up from the south. I could swear I read somewhere while I was signing up that club members had to be there by a certain time like 7:30am, although I can't find it now. But if it's such an early start it might be tricky finding time to meet up and probably wait around while everyone turns up etc. Can anyone confirm when we have to arrive by?
  3. Wow, that's a bit better than I expected tbh. Good luck with the sale, I'm sure you'll be a bit sad to see it go.
  4. You sure you want to stick a K&N in an RCF? What are you trying to achieve, more power? The standard intake is already well designed, and I'd argue it's already higher quality than those kits. Also the filtration isn't as good.
  5. Looks shiny! Here's the mess it made of my car. I wondered what the hell was going on at first, I've never seen "brown rain" before: Drove it yesterday thinking most of it had washed off after more rain, but there was like a nasty film layer over all the windows. Might wash it tomorrow.
  6. That last shot is nice. Looks great all blacked-out.
  7. According to the manual yes: "Empty" (0 miles range remaining) is really more like 6-10 L remaining as far as I can tell. They give you plenty of reserve. The manual also says that the low fuel light comes on when you have approx. 10 L or less. Even if you knew exactly how much fuel was left, you don't really want to get into the habit of running it very low. As I understand it can be bad for the fuel pump among other things.
  8. While we're on the subject does anyone else have to turn the nozzle to a bit of a crazy angle to get it to fill up without clicking off? Often get a hissing sound as I undo the fuel cap as well which makes me wonder if my breather tube might be clogged.
  9. I tend to get 30-34MPG on a motorway run in normal mode. It's a great cruiser and I almost can't believe how comfortable it is and how "fine" I feel getting out even after a few hours of driving. The tank is 66litres (14.5 imp gallons), so it should be possible to get 450+ miles from a tank under ideal conditions. I've also seen 12-15mpg at times. Not sure about single digits, @hockeyedwards how did you achieve this you hooligan? 😄
  10. Well it might not matter now anyway, since it seems to have stopped making noise. I'm going to leave it for a bit and I guess if I never notice it again then it's resolved itself somehow, or I dislodged it without realising. Thanks for looking though! Ha yeah I've played a lot of Skyrim as well. Fun game, although I played the earlier ones as well (Morrowind and Oblivion) so by the time I got to Skyrim and Fallout it all started to feel a bit samey.
  11. I have got the liner off okay, the trim clips weren't too bad in the end, just needed some kind of pry tool which can get under them from both sides. I have tried shaking and feeling around, but honestly I think I'm going to need some kind of magnet or retrieval tool since it seems to be nestled quite well between the inner and outer skin. Oh and yeah I'm a big fan of Dark Souls so I've been a bit hyped for Elden Ring. Seems good so far, but I've only just started playing.
  12. Yeah I have contacted the dealer and they seemed willing to help, but I won't hear back until Monday. Might have a go myself at the weekend (if I can tear myself away from Elden Ring). Got one of those bendy magnetic things and a trim clip removal tool by any chance?
  13. Update on this! Lexus Guildford had my car in today and have replaced the spoiler motor under warranty. I've got the car back now and it's working much better, now it actually responds quickly and raises up within a second or so. Engine on, or just ignition it doesn't matter. Might even go up a bit higher too. So I'm very happy about that. However... now every time I open or close the boot I hear something roll inside the boot lid. It sounds like a loose screw honestly. Not sure how they missed that, I'm assuming it's something that's been dropped in there while the work was being carried out, rather than something that's come loose on the drive back. 😕
  14. https://www.megazip.net/zapchasti-dlya-avtomobilej/toyota/lexus-is-42401 I've used this site before to get RC F part numbers. It's a bit tricky to navigate, your best bet is to know the VIN or chassis code which you can get from your car (for ISF maybe "USE20"?).
  15. I'd just do a full HPI check to make sure the history of the car is clean and ask if he still has the original parts (if not what happened to them?). And then just the usual service history, checking for damage/issues and a test drive should tell you whether the car is good. Not gonna lie though the thought of touching that steering wheel makes my skin crawl. Was alcantara ever an option on an ISF?
  16. You might need to fix the link, it's not working here. Enjoy the car though. Manual or PDK?
  17. I think the car can do a good job at the middle ground stuff too, it's just reluctant! 😄 Sport mode with moderate throttle input seems to work for me.
  18. Agreed, I have absolutely no complaints about the 2UR-GSE it's a sensational engine. If anything it's the transmission that can let it down, especially in normal mode it takes ages to wake up and downshift when you floor it. But I get why, they want normal mode to always feel smooth and torque convertery whereas Sport and S+ give you those fast and satisfying hard-edged shifts.
  19. I can see where you're coming from, my previous car was a Seat Leon with a 2.0 TSI, it had heaps of torque from low revs and when I first drove the RCF I was somewhat unimpressed and wondering how something with so much power could feel so "slow". However driving the Seat was a pretty sterile experience and it seemed to just lose all of its pull at motorway speeds.
  20. I guess I'm pretty debt-averse and don't like to be bound by lots of monthly payments, especially scary four-figure ones. But yeah it's a personal thing as you say. Ugh, launch control. That's a rant for another time I think. If you're interested look up the 5-60mph times of various cars, it takes launch control out of the equation. Those VAG cars aren't so quick in the real world. I think those brakes are a big part of why it performs better. It's not just braking performance, it's the weight (all unsprung and rotational mass).
  21. Nice, liking the red interior, envious yet again! Well done, enjoy the car.
  22. Wow that monthly payment. My biggest problem with PCP is that they always have a really low cap on the deposit. You can increase the deposit amount which lowers the monthly payments, but only up to some low-ish percentage like maybe 10 or 20% of the total value. As an aside I think the track edition is pretty underrated if not for the high price. It's annoying that it gets the EU nerfed engine, but the weight savings and small improvements they have made all over the car should add up to quite a lot. You would get a lot of people trying to race you with that huge fixed rear wing though!
