  1. Hi JoJo, I can't recommend that IS enough, my mate at work has just bought himself a TT c/w 18" alloys, but he still likes to play in the Lexus as well - and he seriously thought about buying an IS Sport. I agree with all the other guys about the image, the looks you'll get etc - it never ceases to amaze me how many people stop to stare at my IS - and soooooooo many people say that they want one (but they just can't have one!) As the advert for Lexus says - it's the feeling inside - and that's true, I spend an awful lot of time behind the wheel of mine, and I always get out having enjoyed the journey - the stereo is class, the seats are comfy and well, it's just all round good fun  Enjoy your IS200 - you won't regret it!
  2. Nice one Ezzer ..... On my way home every night I go round a roundabout (for those in Aberdeen - the one at the Beach Ballroom) - and it has a slightly adverse camber on it ..... so I always accelerate up to and into it, little tweak on the steering wheel as I go round (I'm going straight across it - if you know what I mean) - and every time the back gives a little slide (even more so in the damp) .... sigh, puts a big :tumble::tumble::tumble: on my face every time I am indeed now converted from FWD
  3. There is only 1 woman that I have seen in a Lexus up here ...... in a Sapphire Blue SE ..... I think that you might be part of an even more exlusive club there .. :D
  4. Reg is Y791TSS ..... I'll be looking for the super cool black lexus with the eyebrows!
  5. There seems to be an awful lot of Lexus owners in Aberdeen who aren't very sociable!! Let's acknowledge each other guys - a little flash will do I'm the one in the Sapphire Blue SE trying to be friendly!
  6. the new c5 looks like a hearse, esp the MASSIVE estate!! Guy at work has got one, says it handles like a house on wheels!!! Claire - I can imagine how much a woman in a Lexus annoys the Beemer brigade ..... bet you have loadsa fun blowing them away .... :P:P:P
  7. Like all the stories guys ..... Passats was one that I had forgotten about (how could I ... I do seem to get a lot of grief from guys in Passat TDI's (thats with the D & I red - really sport) They are the darling of the company car market it seems (tax efficient and all that) - and they are ALWAYS that silver blue colour (with a coat hanging up in the back (on a hangar of course!!)) Oil burners and Beemer drivers ......:cool:
  8. we should get an LOC window sticker which reads "one day you'll be able to afford one of these too Mr Beemer ..... have a nice day :smilegrin:" or alternatively we can just keep burnin em off ...... :flaming::flaming::flaming:
  9. Why oh why are BMW drivers such tw@ts?? Every time I go to pass a Beemer, they always speed up and try and race me - it happened again this morning when coming into work, a guy in a 5-series who got emotional and wouldn't let me past him on the dual carriageway .......... he chickened out at 90 tho' ...:lol: Any other of you Lexus troops got such experiences .......
  10. Word of caution guys .... The Boys in Blue & the local press up here have got wind of this, and are making quite a lot of noise about how wrong it is ... Gatso's will be waiting ... :flaming:
  11. Wow .... didn't know there were so many Lexus owning GnR fans out there .... could be on to something here ...
  12. Ahhh, good old WD40 - a cure for so many ills!!!!! :bounce:
  13. Playa - I had the Concept 100 fitted - was ample protection for the wifes car. The panic arming was very useful, esp if she was going back to the car late at nite/car parks etc ..... give it a little blast on panic mode and u soon find out if there is anyone lurking by the car ....!! As for passive arming - you always have to remember and take the key out - but it would arm after 30 seconds with the doors still open ..... sometimes was a bugger when you forgot that though on the petrol forecourt
  14. If you fitted a Clifford alarm then that would give you the auto door locking when u start the ignition. Very handy to have (esp at night) - as well as the passive arming even when the car is unlocked. Had one fitted to wife's last car and it was very effective at stopping little brats throwing things at the car (the chirping would deter them) - and you also knew that someone had been at your motor when you came back and disarmed. :wow:
  15. I think that you'll be hoping for a while Java ..... sounds like it'll be a case of "I chose to look the other way Officer" :(
  16. This all seems quite familiar - my SE came with SP9000's - and I got 20k out of the rears. The fronts are at 4mm just now, but are starting to show signs of feathering - esp on the outsides ( but then again, I do like to drive it hard on A-roads ) On a slightly seperate thread, we have a lot of 200S models in our car fleet, and there were cases of people only getting 6-8k from their Bridgestone rears .... it was happening so often that our HSE manager put out a safety alert to all Lexus drivers to regularly check their tyres for wear!! Anyone got any thoughts on SP9000 vs Pilots? I quite fancy a shot of the Michelin next time :?:
  17. I always lock my doors at night now, have had experience of people trying to get into my car in town ... It's a sad but true reflection on society now that it is acceptable to assault someone for bad driving. I find the Lexus gets enough attention as it is without having to cut people up etc .... :P
  18. the immortal words ... "they're out to get me .... they won't catch me ..... I'm f@ckin innocent ...." Just makes me feel like it's me against them on my way home .... (all within the laws of the road, of course
  19. Well done to Lexus for providing a decent set of tools/wheelbrace and jack in my IS200Se .... I had the misfortune to have a puncture in the n/s/r this lunchtime - (in the middle of monsoon like rain) - and had it changed over in 5 mins ....... having wrestled with a Peugeot wheelbrace in such poor weather in my previous life (as a 406 owner, with wheelnuts that were stuck solid to the hub(car was only a year old)) - then I appreciate these little features! :bounce:
  20. for some reason that album always inspires me to get my rage out on the way home ....... boy do those dunlops smell hot when i get outa the car ...:lol:
  21. the cost of the mobil1 sounds a bit high. i would seriously warn off going to "fast-fit" style establishments - the oil that they use is pretty poor quality - 20/50 at best, but also, they are not using original lexus parts - you are likely to get a cheap and nasty replica filter - who knows what damage that will do to the engine (along with the poor quality oil). Best bet would seem to be that you buy your own high-spec oil and get them to use it rwroth - if you don't think that your dealer is changing your filter, you can always ask for your old one back as proof ...... you'll be able to tell if they are trying to fool you pretty quickly (esp if there are no markings on the "old filter" casing :o
  22. Currently in changer: Blues Brothers 2000 TTF - The Ultimate High Oasis - What's the story Guns n Roses - Appetite for Destruction Classic Kiss (can't remember the exact name - cd1) Now there's a bit of a mix for my moods ...... :flaming::smilegrin: all at once!!! Hands up who has used their tape deck ... I certainly never have - and don't plan to either!
  23. Hi Boje .... I too get the clicking/creaking noise from the front passenger seat - it seems to be coming from the seatbelt casing - and only creaks when the seatbelt is engaged ...... like Ezzer, I have come to ignore it ...... or turn the stereo up
  24. Wonder if there is such a plate as: ISZ 005 E... (ISZ005E) Now that would be worth a few quid within the Lexus owners!!
  25. It is going in for it's 20k service next week anyway, so I'll get it looked at. I'll let you know if they find anything
