  1. Not sure if anyone else agrees but what is important to me is not what happens in any other country but what happens in my own. It seems there is a a very small minority of the Muslim community who preach extremist values. I get annoyed with the Muslim community because they never appear to tackle this and, I get really annoyed that because of the PC brigade, that the rest of the the communities cannot help tackle this or raise this issue without being labeled a bigot. At the end of the day no matter what religion you follow there are good folks and bad and we want the good ones to win - just seems that our hands are being tied. Any thoughts appreciated.... For the record I consider George W as big a fanatic as those who strap bombs to themselves. He is just playing for another invisible friend that's all.
  2. "In Palestine innocent Muslims are being killed with tanks and shells by the Isreali army villages are being wiped out but non of this is shown on the news! when a palestinian whos whole family, neighbourhood has been wiped out by Israeli bombs, straps a bomb to himself and detonates it in a crowded isreali market, there is uproar and it is all over the news! But one must ask himself is that a normal thing to do i mean to strap a bomb to yourself and blow yourself up, you have to really P*&%$D off at something! It is not a normal thing thing to do! " Sadly life is not black and white just shades of grey. Playing devils' advocate for a second - Israel is surrounded by multiple nations who teach their children that all Jews are subhuman and that Israel should be wiped from the face of the map. In that situation you can expect Israel to put up a pretty robust defense against cold blooded suicide bombers?? Another thing you don't see on the news is Palestinian gunmen riding around in red crescent ambulances to protect themselves. BTW - I am not Jewish and have no axe to grind but organised religion, intolelerance, segregation and especially violence in the name of it, really p:tsktsk:s me off. Fighting for religion is like fighting to see who has the best invisible friend........
  3. Press the button and say HELP to get a list of the commands.
  4. Nice colour combination. Congratulations on the new purchase.
  5. I also noticed Tesco 99 seems to make the engine run smoother
  6. Nice job - if I give you a fiver will you come round and do mine :D ?
  7. The RX has really loosened up now (5000 miles) so I get about 20 on short urban journeys and as per this post 30+ on motorway so the claimed 25 mpg combined looks pretty accurate.
  8. I got my 350 SE-L last November and have to say it is a fantastic car. Is the SE-L worth the difference over SE?? Well.... The air suspension is good - it felt less bouncy than coils. You can also lower the car which helps if you often transport loads or you have short legs like my mum :D Even if you do go for SE go for the NAV/Multi Media because it's brilliant and the Mark Levinson stereo really shines in the RX ICE - free in the SE-L but not important to me Can you blag a bigger discount on the SE-L rather than on an SE and then have to add equipment??
  9. Filled up the RX near Swindon today with BP Ultimate 97 and tootled down the motorway to Bracknell at dot on 70 mph. Lo and Behold!! Trip computer shows 30.4 mpg - hurrah!!! :D Well chuffed I can tell you!
  10. Yep I rejected Dec 05 GS for the same reason. I believe Lexus have fixes for most of these now and that new models are built slightly differently as a result.
  11. Not Jaguar who have just fitted what looks like the aerial from an 82 Cortina to to the new XK :D
  12. I just remembered this post I did a while ago. It comes from US website but may be helpful. Override
  13. No problem - disabling features for safety reasons is a major bugbear for many Lexus owners. Search this forum and there are actually some things you can do to get round it. Search for Navigation Override.
  14. Senior Pre-Sales Consultant - selling Software Testing and Business Service Mgt software for last 9 years. Starting my new job at IBM on Monday selling IT Portfolio mgt solutions. Any IT Directors out there with money to spend give me a PM :D
  15. Happy Birthday you old so and so :P (he says through gritted and very envious teeth) :D
  16. you do actually have to speak like Miles Chumley-Warner to get it to work. Any kind of accent scuppers it :D
  17. These are normally grayed out when you are driving - are you parked up when this happens or driving? Haven't tried but they may also disable when you are parked in neutral.

    Rx300

if it has towbar check for signs of towing - heavy towing may affect the rear suspension
  20. i did get some winter tyres - £43,000 but came with a free RX :D
  21. problem with most Lexus in the snow is not just RWD but very very sharp throttle response which leads to : 1) traction control on, touch accelerator , wheel spins, power cuts....go nowhere or 2) traction control off, touch accelerator , wheel spins....go nowhere :) I have driven IS, GS, LS, RX and best of the RWD was LS because it had very long throw throttle with gentle action. The IS was bad, the GS was comical....
