  1. Try and be positive - petrol is still cheaper than beer!!!
  2. Parrot bluetooth kits seem to get good reviews. Also Lexus now has an official IPOD kit for the RX - just ask your dealer. I had mine fitted a week or so ago and it's great.
  3. Well had the IPOD kit fitted by Bracknell and it's great. IPOD sits in glovebox. Start the car and IPOD shows Lexus logo then switch on stereo. IPOD shows as additional CD player. The system doesn't do track or artist but simply does playlists each of which shows up on the touch screen. You can flick through using on screen buttons or using the steering controls. when you switch off the IPOD goes to sleep. Overall very pleased.
  4. You will need to check with dealer but I believe it covers LS 430/460, RX 2003 onwards etc.
  5. I ban aztecbandit for thinking about Geoffers in a bikini
  6. Car goes in this Friday for the IPOD kit. It appears that Lexus have rebadged the VAISTECH system and it is now an official dealer fit accessory. £300 supplied and fitted - IPOD sits in glovebox and all normal audio controls work. Will report back on how good it is when done....
  7. Silver Door Handles on all RX and blue badges on 400h are two I could find!!
  8. The family are a perfect example of the benefits generation. Makes you proud to be British.............. On a lighter note a joke.... Today Shannon Matthews mother was taken into custody by police and questioned for 6 hours. The wanted to know how she had managed to get 5 men to sleep with her!! :D
  9. I like the traffic data but I wouldn't bet my life on it. It is usually accurate but is dependent on problems being reported and transmitted over TMC and this appears to be still a bit hit and miss in the UK. Aso, and I may be wrong but I think you get a more regular update with radio on than off - I think TMC is updated with radio off but less frequently??
  10. The changes are mainly under the skin I think : 1) More powerful engine in 350 which is slightly more economical 2) newer 350s have the MM system that plays MP3 CDs and new high resolution sat nav screen 3) slightly different 4wd system - supposed to offer better front to back torque split when needed - as if anyone would notice in real world!! LOL 4) Personally I think the RX300 has more comfortable seats - 350 seats seem a little softer. 5) Depending on model you can get the swiveling headlamps on 350 but not sure if these were on the 300? 6) 350 has more sound proofing around engine 7) 350 has newer 5 speed gearboxes which is meant to be smoother changing. I have driven 300s and own a 350 and have to say the biggest difference is the performance - the RX 300 felt a little slow to accelerate sometimes the 350 can be genuinely quick when provoked.
  11. Well you need SOMETHING nice to keep you happy. being a Toon supporter! :whistling: :whistling: At least as a Newcastle fan I can enjoy every football final as a neutral!! :D
  12. Yes - check out... LPG Conversions they even have a calculator to tell you how much you would save. Seriously considering converting my 350 when the warranty is up.
  13. mmmmm tricky one. I have 2006 RX 350 which I am luck enough to have bought outright. Since ***** Turpin announced the latest budget I have been contemplating selling and getting lower tax car but........couldn't give a toss about the environment but do object to giving money to Gordon and his cronies. 1) RX is in peak of depreciation (worth about 22k now I suspect) 2) The replacement car needs to be nice - not a GWIZ!! which will cost me a few quid. Looked at BMW 1 series coupe and even a 120D with toys is 29K!!! 3) Depreciation will accelerate now as all band G cars are the spawn of the devil. Result = probably keeping the car and running it into the ground because I am not sure I can recoup my losses in fuel and tax savings even with 50 mpg diesel. Members thoughts appreciated as I have not fully made my mind up. The other side of me says if I am going to be stiffed 400+ a year I may as well get a Monaro or Range Rover and pay the same!!
  14. Seriously has there ever been a time before where a Government has taken so much in tax and failed to deliver so little?? I don't think so. Myself and everyone I know is so disillusioned with the last ten years - council tax doubled, crime up, uncontrolled immigration, human rights, soaring taxes, politcal correctness, handing our powers over to EU, crumbling transport infrastructure, best ever exam results but stupidest ever kids, prisoners released early because the prisons are full, people dying in our hosiptals because we don't clean them, rights of the minority outweigh the majority (why the hell do this government and its lackies hate our great country so much!!??), speed cameras, yobs ruling the streets......... My mate is a signed up Labour party member and even he has had enough now....
  15. This week's AUTOCAR has review of 8 diesels including IS220. Not pleasant reading if you are a fan I'm afraid....
  16. oh come on folks!! don't you believe the honest chancellor and his boss Gordon? This is saving the planet so stop complaining and take your medicine. :tsktsk: :tsktsk:
  17. Check your air intakes near wipers for leaves and twigs. I had some in mine and they made a loud clicking noise at speed.
  18. Ignore the manual -some phones just don't transfer address details to the phonebook. I believe each lexus garage has a phone that works so take your SIM card in and ask them to transfer your contacts. Lexus Bracknell kindly did this for me.
