I definitely noticed an improvement in my RX. I don't have any metrics but pickup was quicker and I got a few extra mpg on a long journey.

Seems low - however pad wear is affected by type of driving, towing, driving style so 11000 miles could be feasible but unusual.

This is often utilised in car stereo systems. EON: Enhanced Other Networks. Allows the receiver to monitor other stations for traffic broadcasts. PTY: Program Type. This coding of up to 31 pre-defined programme types – e.g. (in Europe): PTY1 News, PTY6 Drama, PTY11 Rock music – allows users to find similar programming by genre. PTY31 seems to be reserved for emergency announcements in the event of natural disasters or other major calamities. This allows you to search for ROCK stations, news etc. TA, TP: Travel Announcements, Traffic Program. The receiver can often be set to pay special attention to this flag and e.g stop the tape or retune to receive a Traffic bulletin. The TP flag is used to allow the user to find only those stations that regularly broadcast traffic bulletins whereas the TA flag is used to stop the tape or raise the volume during a traffic bulletin. TMC: Traffic Message Channel. Demands a RDS-TMC decoder. AST switches to FM-AST or MW-AST band, searches for the 6 strongest transmitters and stores them in the AST programme preset memory. There are ways to remove/reduce inheritance tax. You need to see a specialist solicitor and they will charge you a grand or so but you can dramatically reduce the tax liability. As for comments about the state of this country - I couldn't agree more. A few years time and I'll be off abroad. The country has been on the slide a long time but it just seems to have accelerated tenfold in the last 10 years under this government. If I had said to you 10 years ago : 1) criminals would not be sent to prison because they are full 2) we would have no idea how many people were entering the country, where they came from and what they did when they got here 3) that we would have human rights legislation that allows criminals to sue the police 4) a benefits system that makes scrounging a career choice 5) that political correctness would run wild and allow otherwise loony crackpots to make far reaching decisions that undermine our own culture 6) that there would be plans to put a black box in every car to spy on every journey 7) that you could get a criminal record for not sorting your waste into the correct box 8) there would be a bus lane on the M4 9) 8% of the population of Stoke would be Polish 10) that we would have highest ever taxes, pledge billions in foreign aid but still close our own hospitals 11) that A muslim cleric who we gave asylum to could openly stand in the street and preach murder and hate and we would still give him legal aid and full benefits 12) that someone like Jade Goody could become a millionaire 13) that the general public would be persecuted by the police/cameras to raise money but real criminals would walk free. 14) That someone without a driving license could decide what you can drive, when and how much it will cost (Ken Livingstone, Stephen Byers) 15) Scottish MPs could vote on English political programmes but not vice versa 16) .... the list goes on and on sadly........ You would have called me mad!!!!

I have 800 series front sensors on my RX and they work without problem. It will be worth checking what sensor kit they fitted - the 800 series is the new recommended one.

Had the car a while now and tried that VPOWER from Shell - got an extra 2 mpg on a cruise (26) and throttle response was way better.

Will be handy if you can enter a previous destination on the move.

Found this on US LOC. Handy video showing how to overide the safety features of nav and phone to allow use during driving (by a passenger of course! :) ) Nav / Phone Overide Video instructions You need to sit through 2 * 30 second ads first and then the video kicks in. Haven't checked it yet but it looks easy enough to do.

Only guessing but I have had 4 fitted to front of my RX and I believe it's a standard kit for all new lexus so in theory you should be able to get 4 on the front???

If you have money to spend Lexus dealers have a special kit which fumigates and cleans the whole interior of car and the air vent system but it's about 150 quid I think. It depends on how bad the smell is - I was looking to buy an LS a while ago that had belonged to cigar smoker and even after the clean it was not perfect. Optionally get the car a full valet (this removes smell for interior surfaces) and then switch on your air con fully, making sure recirculate air is off, and then get out and close car doors. Then open bonnet and locate air vents (usually under wipers) and spray in something like Oust or 2in1 or any odour destroying spray. This will fumigate the whole AC system. You may also want to consider having air filters replaced as they will be full of smoke/tar. good luck

If I remember rightly the IS only has 2 front corner sensors?? I had one as a courtesy car and they seemed to work really well when you turned into a space and then went quiet until the last possible second as you approached an obstacle head on. Not sure, butcan you get 4 on the front of an IS??
