  1. I suppose if it can take 650bhp then it can take anything I can throw at it!!! Cheers.
  2. I am looking to upgrade my transmision for some stronger parts because i will eventually be running more power. I was wondering if any of the techies new if the diff and drive shafts from a gs300 or ls400/430 perhaps would be a straight fit to the IS200??? I know the IS300 diff and shafts are stronger and are a straight fit but they are obviously harder to find. Any info is appreciated
  3. Sounds good I believe it will be the first IS200 to put out over 300BHP without engine swap!!! Well done:-)
  4. I had this idea about the arch kit too before but surely you would still need to modify or cut away your standard arch in order to make the difference???
  5. Take it off and get a pair of nice big tail pipes They are much more impressive than an L badge...dare I say it.
  6. I am currently looking to get a Geo set up done but only after the new wheels and wheel bearing are on. Problem is that I am in NI and I don't know anywere who is competent enough to do this and are able to fine tune my setup. I know that if I had some figures to use as guidelines I could get somebody to set the car up to those figures. I would appreciate if someone or a few people could post their figures here so I could have a look and maybe use them to adapt some figures of my own.
  7. Here guys I found these pics while pondering over my decision on the new wheels. Think some of the new IS crew will like this. Looks pretty smart on the new GS too:-) Volk Progressiv te Still looking for opinions on the wheels listed!!!!!
  8. Aaahhh!! the Rota GTR!!! Lovely wheel. They were in my last list of option before I narrowed it down once again. The only reason they are not in the list now is cos they only go up to 18" Are you gonna go for white again or the colour pictured????
  9. Cheers codlord. Thats the kind of reply I need!!! Thanks for the link Mr Morse. I have looked at nearly every wheel on that site and although I like a lot of them I still think the ones above are nicer IMO. I just can't choose between these wheels. It is gonna be either the buddy club or the Volk progressive though I think.
  10. Didn't realise Matt was selling his rims I like the te37's but only in 19" as they have a very different profile in 19". Buddy Club's are tasty and about half the price of all the rest but I'm still not convinced. Cheers for comments so far more welcome!!!
  11. Hi folks, I have been debating with myself for a while now about buying a new set of wheels for the IS. Although I do like the OZ's I currently have, they are not the wheels I really really want. I have been looking at A LOT of rims and have narrowed it down to the following selection. I would just like to get some opinions on these wheels and some reasons for likes and dislikes. Please don't hold back and be honest :winky: Hope these pics are the right size. 12. I am getting a new front bumper in a few weeks so I will be selling my TRD front lip!! And guess what.......it is already painted the colour of your car!!! £100 for it but you will have to wait until I get my new bumper and I haven't ordered it yet. PM me if interested. Oh and I may also be changing my sideskirts too but not sure.
  13. I'll go for a couple of pairs of these once I get a looky at the vid clip!!
  14. Would you believe I actually had to resize the photos to make them smaller and they still came out that size. I don't mind for this thread though as it shows the detail in the paint better.
  15. Cheers Ellz. The bar is just to protect the subs as I usually have a couple of cardboard boxes sliding about the boot for work. It is kust chrome plated copper pipe for plumbing that I bent using a bending spring.
  16. Just thought I would show a few pics of the current boot install before I change it. When i bought the car from Steveaudiox he gave me 3 diamond audio 12" subs and 4 zapco studio 500 amps but they were not installed. He also hadn't installed the 3way crossovers for the fronts either. After a long while debating with myself about fitting it all in and also keeping space in the boot to use for work etc I decided to sell one of the subs and one of the amps. I am currently waiting on a new sub box being made for 2 new 15" JL Audio subs but for now this is as it sits.
  17. Hi folks, Dunno if anybody remembers but I put up a post before about the Meguiars 3 stage system when I used in on the girlfriends old 306 Dturbo. Here's the link http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...ge+deep+crystal I have since used it on my own car and have got brilliant results. I started by rubbing the whole car down with the meguiars quick clay and quick detailer. This got rid of any tar or hard to shift substances from the paint. As the car has been away for while and I did this not long ago there was next to no effort in doing this again as the paint was already smooth. I also noticed that the first stage was very easy to apply and remove this time round too. Stage 2 and 3 were carried out as before and I borrowed my dads camera to get some better resolution pics than my camera phone can give. Here are the results with a few pics also taken after a drive in very light rain today.
  18. My wheel bearing cost £69 from Lexus as I could not source it from any bearing distributor. seems to be a dealer only part. I also got a new seal which was about £13. dunno how much for fitting but it ain't that big a job. I does need to be pressed in and out though.
  19. That is good stuff but if you really wanna spend some time and get the best result after claying then I would suggest the mequiars 3 stage deep crystal system. i have used it a couple of times on different paints and it works brilliantly every time!! :D
  20. If the wheels are the correct fitment for the car they shouldn't rub at all on anything. Especially seeing as you are going for the standard size of rim. If you do need to use spacers anything up to 3mm should be fine to use with standard wheel studs. Prob better to use 1 or 2mm spacers though.
  21. I second that!! :winky: Coilovers should come supplied with a bag of cement for this reason :D love those new wheels but you do need it to be lower.
  22. Hi folks, i have recently got my turbo back from the states after being rebuilt under warranty because the oil seals were gone. It had started to whine also like a SC before it was removed so I know it was deffo not right. The problem is that since I have re-fitted the turbo I am still getting blue smoke from the exhaust. We have put this down to valve stem oil seals. The same thing happened to 2 Honda B16's a B18 and a B20 engine that we did all after getting either turbo'd or SC'd. I was wondering if this has happened to anyone on here. I think it only affects the engine when running about 0.5bar of boost or more as it never happened at all with the TTE SC fitted.
  23. My headlights have the "eagle eyes" fitted but they are a custom job and are not bright at all. You can only notice them in very dark conditions. They look much better!!!! How much are they and will the lights fit a 2000 model IS or are they only for the later model which I think has a slightly different shape of light??
  24. GRiM also has tyhis system in his SC'd IS. Although the last time he showed me the traction control he said that the launch control did not work with the IS200 electronics for some reason. It is still a cracking system though!!
  25. I am currently geting my second wheel bearing replaced on the same wheel within a 2 month period. Listen to find out which wheel it is coming from then jack that wheel up and give it a good shake. You should feel it moving if it is gone. Most likely tyres though.
