With the recent warmer weather Dad turned the dials to cool and...nothing. Was just blowing ambient air. Usual thoughts of needs a regas but was a little annoyed/suspect especially having only bought the car in January. Couple of calls later all booked in with Lexus Edgware Road... Dad turns up and some checks followed when the Tech comes out and says - needs a new condenser as it's leaking. Grrr. Good news is that it's booked in for next week and will all be covered by the warranty - including the regas Anyone else ever had any issues with the UX and the aircon?? Just hope it's "just" the condenser and nothing more serious.

Coolant leaking

Hi Rowley--Car has been ultra reliable other than the aforementioned coolant leak, and that was an inconvenience rather than stranding me somewhere. Only other thing was that the original 12 volt battery did give up after 13 years! Never failed an MOT and has never even had an advisory in its entire history---this one's a "keeper" -

Same here Ray, appreciate your post, making me feel much better about agreeing to a proper Lexus rad as opposed to EuroCar Parts cheaper lookalikes. I'd like this car to last, it gives such a great ride, quiet, roomy & economical so I too am opting not to cut corners on parts. -
….back again, so soon…! ☹️🙂 was just idly thinking…….in 18 day’s this is Post No: 115 ( average 6 per day 😲) - now that is a ‘post barrage’ ! 🤪. 1. have never before written a ‘post’ - in my life ! 😲. ( my First Lexus, too ! ). 2. I believe you, The Gang, have, seriously, let me off lightly ! only a very, very few of you have challenged / questioned me on subject’s I have ‘created’ - was expecting a lot , lot worse ! let me put it this way, as I fast approach The Final Curtain: throughout my contribution’s, as a newbie, I have felt it was like flying a Lancaster / B 17 during the night / day in WW2 on a mission to cross Holland and Germany to attack Berlin with my ‘post’s’ (🙄) ! ….all the flight time watching and waiting, nervously, for the inevitable flak / luftwaffe night fightet’s / day fighter’s……….except, virtually, no confrontation - whatsoever ! 😲. I thank you all, Gang, for what had been, for me, a relatively easy and so fun flight !😃 anthony ps: Malcolm, re fill-to-fill’s - now a lifelong habit! ☹️ 😳. lucky to achieve 23mpg from the 2.3 litre W123 ! ☹️.

Had this problem on my 2007 RX400h--the radiator and the pipes coming from it are plastic.Over the years the plastic becomes more brittle and the constant "flexing" as the engine moves slightly on its mounts causes either the radiator itself, or in my car, where the coolant pipes enter the radiator, to leak. I used a local specialist for the repair. His advice was that he could probably repair the leak with some plastic welding but that was probably not a long term solution. Non OEM radiators were available but I decided to go with a factory original radiator on his advice. The original had lasted for 12 years and a new Lexus radiator will probably see me out. -
After all these problems with security etc, causing very high insurance quotes, and total lack of support from Lexus, I am jumping ship. I took a test drive yesterday on a new car from another manufacturer and made the deal there and then, saving a lot of money as I was downsizing as well. Also the fact that they had the car I wanted, in the colour I wanted in stock for a quick delivery. Just waiting for the handover date. I have a new space saver wheel for my Lexus which is the Road Hero version complete with all the bits that come with it, totally unused, if anyone is interested for very little money as I just want to get rid of it, collection only Kent area. PM for more details.

That chrome trim comes off without taking the door apart, mine has also gone spotty from the sun. I'm waiting to take mine to a wrapping company, and see what they can do. Its only a rubber/vinyl strip. -

Any Reputable Panel Beater Should be able to sort this for You NO PROBLEM Without the need to replace door panels etc.. My Opinion Only Of Couse..!!! -
I have seen a few fixes for this, which involved removing door panels. Anyone any other more simple solutions. Like some sort of adhesive? Thanks

I would imagine that the computer is looking for a valid temperature reading from the sensor. It won't know where the sensor actually is, merely that it's electrically present and that the reading the computer is obtaining from it is within the expected range. So if the sensor isn't connected, the computer logs the fault because it doesn't know how warm the battery is, and so it doesn't know if it's overcharging it or not.

Check for exhaust leak first before you spend any money

85.1 ltrs and E5, forum posts indicate more fuel efficient and economic by using less E5 than if you put in E10 for the same miles Whatever, the low fuel light ( on my Mk3 ) pops on with 100 miles remaining and consumption is dictated by one’s right foot mode AND for me early 30’s mpg on a good hard run, down to late teens poodling around Its a little disingenuous to overly worry about mpg when one’s driving a 4ltr V8 limo 😂 Just refuel before the worry beads start eh ! 😇 Keep us posted on the sale progress please and in the meantime your pax are enjoying limo trips to hospital whatever ……. lucky them 👍 Good luck with the sale ……. hope you don’t regret the parting of ways Malc

Lexus RX Vs Genesis GV80
F.A. replied to Sara.E's topic in RX 300 / RX 350 / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h Club
We currently have a Lexus GS F and have been with Lexus for over 14 years. We also have a Genesis Electrified GV70. The customer service from Genesis was initially fantastic and the personal assistant scheme worked extremely well for us when it was around. Unfortunately this has now been shelved and the Genesis customer service team are horrendous. A really shame as the car is absolutely fantastic and unfortunately better than anything EV related that Lexus currently offers. Lexus customer service is on a whole the best on the market. Congratulations on your RX OP. We had one for 8 years and it was a great car.
