  1. Past hour
  2. Driver and passenger sides haven't got seperate lights, it's as Eggie says, constant green and it's working correctly.
  3. Sorry you lost me. There are only 2 lights. Red and green. Once car starts they flash i.e. checking system and then green light remains on telling you all is correct. The only other message displayed relates to passenger air bag being activated. You can disable the passenger airbag e.g. if transporting a child, but not the drivers which you cannot turn on/off. The e-call system does not activate on passenger/driver sides but activates if air bags activated automatically.
  4. If you still want to try - £29.99 from here for IS250 2008 to update your sat dvd but will only bring you up to 2018. As Linas says you would be updating a very old system ...https://www.satnavishop.co.uk/toyota-39-c.asp (Toyota/Lexus Gen3/5) Better off putting the money towards android or a garmin etc imho.
  5. Time for another update... 2022 As mentioned a few posts earlier. Just after this odometer milestone was reached, my 2nd set of OEM front brake discs failed prematurely, resulting in an MOT failure and tarnishing my car's previously clean test history. I was actually dubious about the car failing, as the brakes didn't seem too bad to me, so got it tested again somewhere else, and what do you know, it passed. Still, I could tell the brakes weren't quite 100%, so I sought out some replacements. At this point I was done with buying OEM Lexus discs, so I was looking for a quality alternative and decided upon a set of slotted discs from EBC, and paired them up with a set of their Yellowstuff pads. Apparently these are the pads favoured by the Police in their pursuit vehicles. They're overkill for the majority of the driving that I do, but there's no real downside as they perform perfectly well when cold, and its good to know that they're up to the job, should I feel like a spirited drive. 2023 At the same time the brakes were fitted, the car recieved a service and I also had to replace the driver's side front wheel bearing as it had been grumbling for a couple of months. This meant I've now had to replace both front bearings since the passenger side one had previously given out in 2021. Still, as far as unexpected costs go, that's not bad during 7+ years of ownership. Next up was a wee visual mod when I jumped on the bandwagon and bought a set of those fancy door lights that everybody else has. Gotta love the Engrish description on the box. I had resisted the temptation to get these up until now. Anytime I had seen pictures of them on other people's cars, there was something that kinda put me off. But I guess the technology has improved since they first appeared on the scene, as the ones I got produce a lovely sharp and clearly defined logo. Could easily pass as OEM. Throughout the year I had noticed that my exhaust had sprung a leak and was gradually getting louder with each passing week. And with an MOT coming up in October, I was going to have to do something about it. An OEM replacement costs literally thousands of pounds, so that was off the table. An aftermarket one was a possibility, but would probably have to be imported and I was concerned that it would take too long to arrive. So, I kicked the can down the road by having the exhaust welded at a local tyre & exhaust centre. Not the cleanest looking repair but it did what was needed to earn an MOT pass, and tide me over until a long-term solution can be found. Into December, and this is when I made the annual switch to my Winter wheel & tyre package. I convinced myself that, come springtime, when these would be coming back off, they'd be getting replaced by something new & shiny. For a long time, like 3 or 4 years at least, I had been searching for a set of the 19" F-Sport wheels that the 2016+ facelift GS came with. I felt that these would've looked really good on my car, and would've fitted with the whole "OEM Plus" theme. Alas, it was to no avail. I did see the odd single wheel come up for sale now and again, but never a complete set. I guess those cars are just too scarce in the first place, and the likelihood of an owner wishing to swap the wheels for something else, even more unlikely. So, I would have to take a dip into the aftermarket world for my next set of wheels. And with a Black Friday discount code available, I took advantage and committed to placing an order for a set of WORK wheels. 2024 They were made to order and had to be shipped from Japan, but the whole process from start to finish, was only around 8 weeks and they arrived at my door in late January. Shout out to Driftworks for the great service.👍 As well as the wheels, I also picked up a set of wheel nuts, centre caps, valves & valve caps. And these are the wheels in question. Work Emotion ZR10 in "Glim Black" with polished lip. I considered going "square" as I believe these 9.5" wheels could also fit on the front no problem, but that would probably involve running a stretched tyre, and I'm not really a fan of that look. So, I kept the staggered setup with a more conservative 8.5" front wheel. 19" wheels were also a consideration, but I think I prefer the smaller wheel, chunkier tyre look. Reaffirming this, I've upsized the tyres to 235/40 & 255/40. Getting decent rubber in these sizes was somewhat limited, with the rear 255/40R18 fitment usually being the bottleneck. Michelin is my usual go-to choice and the latest Pilot Sport 5 was available, but I fancied trying out a different brand for a change. I also liked the idea of my new JDM wheels wearing a Japanese tyre brand. But, with the offerings from Yokohama and Bridgestone being a bit uninspiring, I opted for the recently released Proxes Sport 2 from Toyo. They have the all-important "A" rating for wet grip, and a local independent tyre shop hooked me up with them for a very reasonable price. Once I got the wheels back home I wiped them down and gave them a coat of Gtechniq C5. This was my first experience of using a ceramic product of this type, but it appears to have gone well despite the coating being applied in fairly lukewarm weather. I love how the colour of the spokes can flip between looking silver or black, depending on the viewing angle. Before I put the new wheels on the car, I flushed out all the crud and crap that had built up in the wheel arches during the winter. Here's a few pics of how they look on the car. I'm delighted with how they look and the fitment is very nice. The stance should look even better in a couple of weeks when some of the wheel arch gap is eliminated... 😉
  6. Yuasa here £94 delivered https://www.batterycharged.co.uk/
  7. Blimey. GSF. I bought big 5yr warranty Yuasa silver one from my local store last August when I bought my 91 Ls400 ….. £166 Not much reduces in price but it’s now £133 👍 Might be a great time to buy your new battery Perry ! Malc
  8. Hello Everyone, I recently bought a new Rz and I would like to use ABRP and its live data feature. One option is to use an OBD reader. I tried one with the profile of BZ4X as I was expecting them to be the same. However, I could read only a few data and none of the interesting ones, like SoC or current power. Does anyone else have experience using OBD readers on an Rz? What app do you use? Perhaps any knowledge on the used PID addresses, if they are not the same as BZ4X? Thank you!
  9. Today
  10. Easy, the mid term face lift production started in September 2017. So the NX phase 1.2 or whatever people are calling it was approved for manufacture before the mandatory requirement.
  11. I would email cr@lexus.co.uk to check that is the case for certain as it's true that many dealers are not well clued up on it. I renewed mine in November last year and it was included.
  12. As I posted I've already checked the manual which suggests that the eCall system is off on the driver's side but where is this configured? I assume normal functionality results in both lights showing as green and that there's no configurable items available for the driver.
  13. Yes no complaints about the ride . It has adaptive dampers which use a camera to adjust to the road. Works well in general. We have the 20inch wheels too which made little difference to the standard 19s on the car we test drove.
  14. Well gentlemen, decision time is looming ! I definitely won’t do Nutshell, Marshmallow, or Hedgehog, and having scoured the comparison market, read reviews until I’m blue in the face, and studied the individual policies, that are available to an RX owner ( a lot ain’t) I have a choice of two policies. 1 Tesco Gold policy at £1062, their reviews are equivalent to the likes of Saga, Aviva and the like. 2 NFU Mutual policy at £1242, their reviews are top of the tree, and customer satisfaction is excellent for both customer service and claims satisfaction. This policy however does not contain as many features as the Tesco policy! I have to ask is the extra £220, for NFU and peace of mind, worth it over the Tesco policy 🤔🥴🤯 Where will you place your bets gentlemen, and by the way, any contributions greatly received 🤣😂
  15. Hi there, nice to see there are a few old faces still about! That's interesting re: perspective as an EV - that's what reviews have suggested too so useful that they tie up, and that range sounds a lot better. Was definitely alarmed jumping in the Lexus with three quarter battery showing 115 miles range remaining which didn't seem great at all. Really disappointing about customer service, hope that improves! The main thing I've been struggling with EVs is the harsh ride comfort (particularly the Model Y), does the Genesis ride well?
  16. The manual self explanatory: When the power switch is turned to ON, the red indicator light will illuminate for 10 seconds. Then, the green indicator light will illuminate for 2 seconds and remain illuminated if the system is functioning properly. The indicator lights indicate the following: ● If the green indicator light illuminates and stays on, the system is enabled. ● If the green indicator light flashes twice per second, an automatic or manual Emergency Call is being made. ● If no indicator lights illuminate, the system is not enabled. ● If the red indicator light illuminates at any time other than immediately after the power switch is turned to ON, the system may be malfunctioning or the backup battery may be depleted. ● If the red indicator light blinks for approximately 30 seconds during an Emer- gency Call, the call has been disconnected or the cellular network signal is weak. Therefore if the light is showing green all is working.
  17. Hi Parthiban, I remember you and your IS200 from back in the day! The car has been fantastic. I can’t fault the EV side of things. It’s almost like it’s a generation ahead of the RZ450e. We get 200 miles comfortably on the motorway and around 220-230 miles around town in the current coldish temperatures, just driving like a normal car and not hanging around. We also don’t turn the HVAC off either. We rarely charge away from home or the business but when we do, it charges before we are ready to leave the services. It’s beautifully built inside and out, and in my opinion better finished than the RZ. It genuinely feels special and is super rare, which sparks up loads of conversations when out and about. There is a BUT, and that’s the customer service as you have realised, which is rubbish. It was fantastic when you had a Genesis PA but it sounds like they all have been sacked at the start of the year, now that Genesis are restructuring and being merged with Hyundai. Such a shame really as it genuinely is a fantastic car. Simply ordering a windscreen wiper takes 1 week ( although now that I have a part number , I can get one online). Our rear bumper got cracked in a minor knock from another car and it’s been a nightmare sourcing a part. Would I buy another, yes because the car is that good and Lexus don’t currently offer anything which would replace it and I’m not one to follow the masses, but just be prepared to be patient with the customer service.
  18. Still waiting after 2.5h for my UX250h Aircon to be regassed. I thought this could be done in 30m. How long does it normally take? Thanks
  19. Our 3 cars have Yuasa batteries. Never had a problem with them. Look on the GSF website for a 10% discount.
  20. I was interested in the extended warranty , but after phoning four Lexus dealers - three of which had no one available who knew about it - the fourth one advised that the Roadside assistance is no longer included. Apparently it was removed sometime last year. £546 without Roadside Assistance is not now such a bargain
  21. Thanks for the input, I guess if anything can do these kinds of miles it's a Lexus. The one thing, more than any other, which make me a little apprehensive is that the car is straight piped - which is something I really don't like and would have to address immediately. Does the ISF use the same exhaust / cat system as the 250 or is it bespoke? (I'm assuming so) Having the entire exhaust system redone would quickly erase most of the savings I'd make going for this one, at which point I'd be better off just spending a few grand extra for a fully stock one on lower miles. I'm also somewhat tempted by the Cat S one, given how low the mileage is (+ facelift), but my brain is telling me to run for the hills.
  22. I've noticed that only the passenger side eCall indicator light is on (green) in my NX450+. The driver's side light is always off which according to the manual means that the system is off. I've not knowingly changed\set any of these settings so is this normal or do I need to configure somewhere?
  23. My recent’ish Varta experience isn’t good Yuasa have been brilliant but I always buy the highest quality, life etc Yuasa And I used to buy from the Toyota Main Dealer Spares Dept in times past where the pricing was very competitive But times change ! I’ve never bought a battery from Halfords Good luck Malc
  24. I had a gear lever lock on my convertible sports car in the late 60's. Two attempts were made to steal it in 6 months, one in Liverpool city centre and one in St James' London. Neither was successful. Mind you, the Maserati air horns linked to the ( Selmar ) motion sensor alarm helped too.😃. It would probably still be very effective if used today.
  25. Also I think it's one of the factors on why insurance prices have risen overall.
