what even a dash tray?

In theory yes. You should tell them, they may just say it doesn't matter.

It may depend if you want insurance just to be legally covered and not have your insurance void if they find mods. after an accident or if you want the actual mods. covered.

e.g. if you car is broken into and the interior damaged if your dash tray is fully covered then that will be replaced. Otherwise the standard parts will be used and you will have to buy another dash tray yourself.

Whilst I agree 100% with everything Colin said above - the sort of modifications you guys are talking about have been previously classified as "cosmetic" by our LOC Insurance Scheme - and they have a proven reputation for not charging extra for cosmetic modifications.

So whilst I agree should must always 100% disclose any modifications, you may find that by moving to the LOC Insurance Scheme they may not affect your premiums

Hiya

I have had this discussion with my Nephew, who works for an insurance broker. He said it varies from company to company. Some only ask for performance related mods, where as some also require cosmetic as it "makes the car more appealing to a thief".

My advice is to ask your insurance company direct, cos believe me, should you need to claim (touch wood you won't), they will check the car for any signs to get out of paying you! They are gits for doing that.... :whistling:

Hope this helps :winky:

Nick
