Performance Exhaust From Is350?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Does anybody know if this "performance exhaust" system from Lexus US for the 350 is anything special? (http://www.lexus.com/models/IS/accessories)

I'd like to fit the IS300h F-Sport with the visible muffler tips / different sound (does not have to be the 350 ones if others are available), but I do not want to sacrifice my whole diffuser on the back (http://www.wheelworldreviews.co.uk/wp-content/uploads//IMG_1608.jpg)

Does anybody have an f-sport with this on? Could not find any on the forum myself. How does it look?

Those back boxes wouldn't work on a IS300H. For a start your need to cut your current diffuser for the exhaust tips to fit. Even if you managed to get it to fit, it's likely to sound awful. Then engine noise on the IS300H is pretty much either nothing or not a very nice sounding drone. The IS350 has a V6. If you want better noise than just turn up the 'noise generator' in the cabin.

If you are prepared to mod the bumper and or fit is250 parts it would look great on a 300h. It may cost a bit but could well be worth it. Any decent custom exhaust place could make the pipes up. Its how Lexus should have made the 300h fsport to differentiate it from the standard cars imho.

We (and with ''we'' i mean the dealer and their mechanics) are going to mod the original f-sport diffuser. Not sure how it's going to turn out but we'll see. Will keep you posted.

First it has to be assembled and shipped so the wait is on ;-)

Thanks

Hello everybody.

I collected my second is300h f-sport in july of this year and from previously owning one my only
problem with the exterior of the vehicle is that the tailpipes were hidden behind the stock diffuser.

Before I collected the car I did a bit of research into what it could be replaced with and decided to go with a full carbon diffuser from seibon. It was shipped from america and I timed it so the main dealers could fit it before I collected it. After I took delivery of the vehicle i took it to a vehcile modifying garage in my local city and replaced the exhaust tips. the originals were cut off just short of the back box and the new ones fully welded back on.

I didn't want any preformance upgrade or a change in noise. I jut wanted the rear of the car to look a bit meaner.

Let me know what everyone thinks and don't hold back. I know it's not for everyone
