My first engine mod was an exhaust, induction kit and and a Unichip via Tdi.. with the whole lot Tdi estimated an increase of approx 15 BHP. aswell as better fuel economy..

so in conclusion a chip by itself.. forget it..

As stated bt the guys above, sort your induction and your exhaust. An engine is like a lung , the easier (to a point!) it can breathe in (Cold) air and breathe out spent gases , the better it performs. The "Chip Tuning" merely adjusts the computer setings to make the best use of the improved breathing. TDI have free flow filters for your car , or indeed a Complete induction kit , as for exhausts , they do a De-catted manifold , and complete systems . Also Mat C (Supracharged IS340) is getting Manifolds and systems made too.

Or you could just go buy a Supercharger........

Hope that helps some buddy.

First step in the IS200 modification process would be to enrol in GOLD :P

After enrolling you will able to participate in our groupbuys and a whole world of Lexus specialists will be at your service at very attractive prices

I personally would not go for a chip solution. Most of these chips will only give significant performance gains on Turbo cars. For NA cars you probably can only expect a modest gain of 5 - 8%.

The best performance upgrade for the IS200 would be a TTE supercharger. Save for that upgrade :)

Try to get some knowledge about turbo charging, order a bolt-on kit and mount it in in a couple of days with any friend of your's.

Buy wide-band sensors (O2, air/fuel mix.), piggy back air/fuel computer and dyno your car by yourself.

Of course it's a question of money and experience.

But after that you could kick some S/C IS200 a.ses..... :D

Otherwise you told us you are from London, put your car to TDI and they will let the monster out of your engine. B)

Best way to get tons of power out of an engine.

But as I told you.... it's a question of money.

I am going to do it next summer. I have a company car so it doesn't play a roll how long the mounting process would take.

=================================

Of course intake and exhaust can solve some acceleration problems at low rpm.

I have it and I was happy to notice a much better response at low speeds.

Not much in high-end power like 5.500rpm in 5th gear or such, but it responses better at low rpm like 1st-3rd gear.

An air/fuel computer can help to get some more power out of it, but it would be more useful with a turbo.
