I've just been reading this thread with interest as I'd never heard of Rock Auto and after browsing through their website I found I could buy a new filter / strainer and sump gasket for my 2005 gs430 auto transmission for £33 delivered as apposed to £130 from Lexus UK. That sound too good to be true, I guess its a supply and demand thing, I just wonder if the quality is as good. Tempting though.

The quality is good I must say. I've bought denso o2 sensor from them for £37 odd pound that lexus dealers wanted around £170 for and I've also just ordered 8 denso iridium long life sparkplugs from them for £38 where as lexus dealers wanted over £78 for

I am considering buying a Denso radiator from rockauto but they dont seem to stock ones for a 2000 GS430 just 2001 onwards. i take it the 2001's they have for sale should be ok for mine or did Lexus change the radiator design for 2001 models? there is also one on eBay being sold from US and thast too says from 2001. any one know if 01 radiators will fit 2000 model? thanks

I can only assume as the 430 only started in October 2000 (probably not that many around from 2000), there wouldn't have been any changes before hitting 2001

helpful as usual TigerFish.. thought the same but figured i'll double check to be sure.. i am guessing the GS400 was still being sold in US in 2000 hence they made the 430 available from 2001 onwards where as europe had 430 from october 2000 as you confirm.. of topic but why does Lexus GB/Europe charge so much for parts when the same parts could be bought and delivered cheaper from US as messi confirmed o2 sensor cost less than 40 quid all in and lexus wanted 170 for the same part..

The US always call their vehicles a year ahead. The GS430 came out in Oct 2000 but in the US it is known as a 2001 model. The GS430 didn't exist as an official 2000 model - that was the GS400 (which was never sold here in the UK).

If your vehicle was registered in the second half of the year then just select the following year on US websites.

Are the lexus gs430 radiators the same as the la430's? I'm looking for some coilovers for my ls430 that I have now. It's had new air suspension put in but I'm sure they will fail again. But rockauto don't sell coilovers

Guys,

I have bought a Denso Rad from Rock Auto, just some information I have gathered....2001 had some changes with somthing to do with a radiator sensor, but they have a bung if the car does not use it, also the US rads do use a different reservoir which is not pressurised, so you do NOT have the top feed going to the reservoir....

which is no a problem though, I am pretty sure a LS Rad will not fit, as the legs at the bottom of the rad is different.
