are k&n air filters of any benefit to a hybrid. i have been looking around and the best price i have found is £49.19

i dont know if this will be money well spent or wasted on the hybrid engine ,is anyone using one of these filters.

It will probably make a slight difference when you're running on the petrol engine.

Doesn't seem to be many people modifying their IS's in the UK

i was thinking along the lines of, if it created a little more power then you wouldn't have to put your foot down as much

and therefore better mpg so over a period of time it may pay for itself,and the other is never having to buy an air filter again.

^^ After market air filters rarely if ever produce and more power. If anything they can cause a drop in power.

It's another case of marketing versus fact.

yes, and a little bit more induction noise (if you consider that a benefit).

you buy a hybrid for the quietness so i wouldn't want the extra noise

They may increase power at certain points in the rev band, but its possible that you could also lose power at some points in the rev band. Despite what the nay sayers may have you believe drop in panel filters can sometimes provide power improvements, but each car is different and they work better on some cars than others.

The only way to tell for sure will be a pre and post dyno run.
