Wheel Size, Ls 400, 1990-95 Onwards

Recommended Posts

Can anyone tell me if all wheels from the years leading up to 1995 were the same size and fitting? I have 1995 which needs a spare wheel & I have been told that as far fittings go between 1990 to the end of the LS 400 all normal lexus wheels would fit though the spokes patterns might be different.

Can anyone confirm that is the case or would i be able to tell if, simply, the tyre sizes were the same as the 95 (aug), i dont mind if the spokes are different i just need a spare wheel.

Thanks all

There's a ropey one on Preloved - been on there months and months. Wants £48 for it. Frankly a tenner is more than its worth in its present state - if that! but if its convenient to collect and if the style you want? Daresay any breaker on eBay will provide better. my 93 wheels are 16 x 7 inch 225/60/r16 offset 45. Imagine yours are this size also. Earlier cars may have been 15 inch.

OK, the shody ones not replying, there are a few around but other years, so back to my original question, are all the standard LS400 wheels from 1990 onwards the same size? i dont mind if i have to get one with different trim to  mine so long as it fits wheel and spare tyre I have.

thanks

No, they got bigger (and possibly a smidge wider) as the years went on. It's more of a cmplication trying to put smaller/earlier wheels on a late LS400, IIRC, because they won't clear the brake disks. But AFAIAA, putting a later set on an earlier car is possible.

OK, well mine is aug 1995 reg as thats the smaller engine does that mean it has smaller wheels and only before 1995 regs will fit??

What does "IIRC" & " AFAIAA" mean?

thanks

I see, yes less hp, but, i don't understand anything about mechanics so i assumed it was smaller

That is what the coded letters mean IIRC  means  " If I Recall Correctly "  and AFAIAA    means   " As Far As I Am Aware "
