I have received a DVD to upgrade the Sat Nav system for my IS 300 Sedan .

There are no instructions with the DVD or in the various manuals . I understand that the DVD is housed somewhere in the trunk (boot) but I have not been able to locate it. Has anyone changed a DVD?. It looks a fairly simple exercise and therefore I am a bit reluctant to take the car to a dealer because the nearest one to me is 120 miles away.

from memory

take everything out of the boot, spare wheel holder etc.

DVD unit is on the right hand side.

slide "slider" forward - this reveals a button.

press the button - DVD slides out.

replace DVD

repeat steps above backwards B)

Many Thanks Matthew. I have located the DVD center and it is a very simple operation to change the DVD. I now have the latest version although it still does not have my own street which is 2 years old!!

Even although I bought my Lex from a non Lexus dealership, how would I go about getting the new DVD upgrade?

Buy one from a dealer. Expensive though - around £350.

what version dvd is the new one you have brought

I have an opportunity to purchase a DVD from an RS300 for less than £350 but am unsure whether this will fit the IS300 Nav system. Are all the DVDs standard for all models or should I shy away?

Would appreciate some info sooner rather than later beacuse I don't think it will be available for long.

I guess you are talking about the one on eBay? Yes all models use the same DVD.

Looks like there will be a few people from LOC all bidding on the disc.

Interestingly the description says it costs £190+VAT. Maybe the latest disc has a lower price?

Yes, bangon - I didn't want to mention eBay incase I gave it away - should have known better. I wondered about the recommended price (wondered whether he'd got the price of the CD rather than DVD).

Anyway, will place a bid and see what happens - many thanks for the info.
