Nice, Be carefull which one's you try as some do not reverase the image.

Most of them will cover the large viewing angle required.

You can get Pin hole water proof ones which are the best, but need a hold drilling  ....

i dont even know where to get them mate.never seen one before,i dont mind drilling a hole.i wouldnt mind one though :)

my dvd will take a reverse camera ,plugs right in.anyone got one if so what are they like. :)

Just installed mine... I've got 5.6" wide screen placed where the rear view mirror usually is, and a tiny B/W CCD-camera (with IR-leds for night view) in the middle top end of the rear window. Works like a charm! :D

The camera and display come on when I turn the ignition key, and shut off respectively. Works better than a rear view mirror, 'cause there's nothing on the line of sight of the camera (head rest, C-pillars, passenger's head, etc). Plus as a bonus, I can see into a lorry's or buss' cabin at the traffic lights even if they stopped bumper to bumper. Their drivers think I can't see them, so it's nice to watch them doing some silly stuff while sitting at the lights (picking nose, etc) :whistling:

A mod I can recommend for everybody! :winky:

sounds good, except i think i'd like a colour screen.  where did you get yours and at what cost?

The screen is colour, but the camera's b/w just for the fact that b/w cameras can usually cope with much less lux than color cameras. So revesing lights are more than enough to see fine in total darkness. I live in Finland and I got the camera from a local "Maplins" counterpart for just about 45€ (~ 25GBP).

another option to drilling a hole or mounting the cm in the rear window is to remove the boot lock and place it in the hole thats left - seen a few like that.

only downside is that u cant lock the boot then.

Over here it's an MOT failure to remove the rear view mirror if the vehicle was manufactured with one (or so I was told by an Mot inspector !)

One of our "Banned" members has a rear view camera in his IS200. (can you guess who ???)
