New is300h owner - help needed

Featured Replies

Hi to all,

just joined this forum after purchasing my 2015 Lexus is300h Executive edition in Sonic Titanium

Really enjoying the experience and getting used to the hybrid drive. I have tested afew different prius and auris and this is a totally different drive to them, especially in sports mode.

The problem I have is that I have noticed my sat nav isn’t displayed on my instrument cluster, I have read that there is a blue connector at the back of the cluster that connects to the navigation system so that it can communicate. It got me thinking  if it would be as simple as getting the wire and connecting it up myself to get the navigation to show on my cluster or is there more changes needed?

mine only works when a destination has been set, it only advises me of upcoming junctions.

I tried setting a destination but it doesn’t show junctions in mine. Your cars probably got the plug connected on the back. Do you have basic sat nav or premium?

This is the connector located on my cluster that is missing the cable.

Also does anyone know if the other end of the cable plugs into the screen or the headunit?

The question I'd be asking is why is the cable missing? Was it ever fitted?

If it was never fitted pretty sure there would be some coding with TechStream to enable the communication.

Do you need to switch to a specific display screen to view the nav info?

I think there is meant to be a navigation icon in the cluster options which mine hasn’t got. Wierd because my car comes with navigation and I checked the back of my cluster and I have the blue connection.

I'm sure all clusters are the same, differentiated only by coding.

As Colin suggests it may only be available on Premium (and F-Sport clusters, as in my car)?

Yes it could be a premium nav feature. Could someone with basic nav confirm if they see the navigation option on their cluster.

I have a 64 reg IS 300h Executive with standard nav and don't have the navigation on the cluster.

Thanks, I guess that solves that. I am still going to try to source the wiring loom to connect to the cluster. I will update here if it worked or not.

Any luck getting it working? I am also keen to get the navigation in the cluster.

Mine is the premium nav, but I was under the impression they all did it
