I had it done a month ago, and it needs a clean again now as we speak, but it much easier to do now, and looks and stays better longer...well worth it I think, it's really a deep clean for your paintwork!

At 48 yrs of age am I still in the age range of “ mid life crisis “????????. The reason I ask is I have bought a cheap Dvla  plate V888 GSF for car ,something I have never liked for my cars now having done so I am eager to find reasoning behind this and feel “ mid life crisis “ will do!!!!!. Please help

Well, if you are experiencing MLC at 48 then I am you multiplied by 1.5😂 And the single biggest advantage I find to a private plate (least digits the better) is, it's easier to remember!! Especially useful at those meters which ask for your reg. 😅

I had a similar idea and over the last three years have bought a batch of the cheaper ones £250) for all four of our vehicles, all starting with the same first four digits, the latest (final one R111SFY) was the closest I could get to the aforementioned GSF!

That said I started my mid life crisis young, while everyone else was in Novas Astras and Escorts as their first car, my first three were Volvo 340, 360 then 440!! Obviously I've not recovered now owning Lexus instead, some 25 years later!!!

Well mine is; NEC which in Scotland is an abbreviation for National Entitlement Card. Which I thoroughly agree with, everyone should be entitled to drive a Lexus 😎

Best value for money upgrade you will ever do on a high end car. Especially if it's Black or dark colored.

I had my XF R-Sport done by a guy in Droitwich about 4 years ago, I had paint correction, Siramik diamond coating he also did the Wheels, painted the callipers red and coated those and put a clear suntek PPF film over the front end. Cost me about £1100 the lot back then.

Car always came up like new even the wheels with just a simple wash using ceramic RESET wash and a application of RELOAD top up every 6 to 9 month

Google how to dry off a ceramic coated car with the hose pipe, 😃

Reset worth the purchase?

You need to make sure you use non acidic shampoos and cleaners to get the best out of a ceramic coating. Reset or other ceramic shampoos deliver this they are in the main alkaline and ph neutral.

Reload is a easy top up coat containing 5% silica concentrate both the Reset shampoo and the Reload spray coat keeps the body work very slick so the water just runs straight off. Don't let the Reload dry before buffing off as it may cloud a little just do a panel at a time, 2 times a year should suffice.

There are several of these products different makes, go with what your detailer recommends, I just like the Carpro gear. Look after it and it will always stand out above waxed/polished cars no matter how well they have been done and need a fraction of the effort 😉

That looks like a great result.  Very nice colour. I’ve never seen another GSF in that colour. Must be very rare.
The carbon piece in the  front bumper looks to have taken a bit of a hammering though, I always thought that it was a bit of a silly design.

I used Topaz in Bristol

It’s not perfect but a massive improvement. There is some distortion in the pattern where they hadto get close to the carbon. The other option was to replacement but that was around £4K 🙄
