Satnav update

Just purchased one of those eBay DVD updates. All working and has the latest maps (2021), but can't get the speed camera's or speed limits to display.

Can see them in the list and even set a destination to they, but they just won't show on the map. 

Has anyone done this and got them to work?

The problem with map updates is that they only update the maps, not the software/firmware to run the nav system - did that facility work before?

Also, given that they are DVDs you'll never be able to update the speed camera locations anyway even if you could get them to work, so they're about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike.

It's good to hear that you have gone for the 2021 version and it worked! Well nearly.

I was only brave enough to go for the 2017/2018 version believing any newer version would not play on my 2007 vehicle. 

It will be interesting to see how this one pans out, hopefully a clever guy can switch on the extra knowledge it contains.

What I don't understand about the update that it should not be a Lexus DVD which one you bought?

Lexus stopped making the DVD's for the GEN3 satnav in 2017, however it does use a 3rd party software possible used on old Jags and Land Rovers. 

So some clever person has managed to get the latest maps with speed camera's and reverse engineer it back to the Lexus software. I suspect the icons are in the wrong format and therefore wont show.

As an alternative I do use Radarbot on my mobile which does work very well, and TomTom do a free version too for the android phones.
