I was thinking about changing the back box on my car. I want something that is discreet, not something that a kid could get lost in, also I would like it to to be slightly louder but nothing to make your ears bleed, I have read the OFFICIAL IS EXHAUST TOPIC and it would look like I could go for

TTE Backbox

Or

HKS Silent Hi-Power, but this looks big.

Any advice on this would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Maybe a Blitz Nur-spec - sounds very nice but not huge? It's what I was going to go for when I couldn't get a Drager (before I ordered the original Hiper).

As n30jjb will tell you the Silent Hiper is just as huge as the normal Hiper but sounds pretty much the same as the stock exhaust.

Haven't heard the TTE one so can't comment on that.

TTE box doesn't have the nice fishtail (or is it fish scale) welds typical of the japanese brands.

It's an altogether more discrete, subtle and less bling item.

Sound wise barely different at idle but growls nicely later.

Just enough to be worthwhile but not at all intrusive.

Think of it as a 'euro style' rather than 'japan style' thing B)

Price wise i think it's nearer 200 than 300 from the dealer.

Wouldn't want to say it's better than x or y..

From what i've heard, HKS etc might release a bit more power.

I had a japanese (Trust) system on my Tubby 2 and that was awesome.

Just prefer the 'look' of the TTE type of zorst on this car.. Less bling B)

Probably something to do with my advancing years - Pass the zimmer please :D

Anyway, i'm quite happy with it.. It's just down to personal taste..

Yes it came from Lexus but i fitted it myself.

Would be a doddle if you have access to a hoist...

Slightly trickier with just a jack but not a difficult job by any means.

Tony's tip... Spray the rubber hangers with some lube before you start !!
