Awaiting the BG planning team giving me a date for an engineers visit

I have the same wall box. Do you know what warranty there is on it. I can't find the original documentation.

I've just checked my warranty and it definitely say's 3 years from date of installation. I'm currently about to start my 3rd year.

Whatever BG did remotely Malcolm it appears to have cured the issue however the indicator lights on the wallbox now don't follow the previous sequence (blue flashing indicating charger waiting etc).  Have been promised a call from the BG engineers planning team but clearly they are not in a hurry!

I have had the same issue intermittently. I'm using a Hypervolt 3 charger. I find that double locking the car solves the issue

Hi All. I had a similar situation yesterday night. Charger would not charge from the wall point. It’s a BG EV charger. Cable wouldn’t lock at all and there is no green light on charging box or on the wall point. Any resolution to this issue. Tried double locking as well with no success.

Have you checked the charging schedule that you may have set on the car? I eventually found that cancelling that and resetting the charger locked on. Also worth checking that the wallbox is receiving a signal and has power.

I've started to experience something similar with my Podpoint charger. One of the possible causes for this is a drop in the supply voltage where, for whatever reason, the supply drops below the level required for the charger to work. Podpoint swapped the charger just in case it was the issue but their remote monitoring did record supply issues.

The National Grid have fitted a recording device on my supply to see if it's dipping on a regular basis. Apparently it's quite a common problem.

What's interesting about this is that if the monitoring reveals ongoing supply dips then the reason for this isn't always easy to find. I may just have to live with it.

If I had a fully electric car I'd be in a position where I may not be able to reliably charge my car at home because of an issue that no one, Podpoint or the National Grid, made me aware of when I had the survey and the charger fitted.

Quick update from my end. As it turns out, on my Ev.energy app, i had locked the charger and hence it was not charging or locking the cable. I unlocked it in the app and now its charging.

on other note, is anyone also using ev.energy app. I found that it doesn't sync up as smoothly with the car as I would have liked.

Having issues with charging my UX300E. Charging starts and after a few seconds a notification that charging is complete, unplug and plug back in to start charge. Have done this like 30+ times before any charging.

Setting the charge schedule in the car does not work. Have done it but car did not charge. Took the car to the dealer and they tried to set up schedule n the car but returned with an error.  Sent me home after making an appointment for 2 1/2 weeks later. The car will run out of charge soon.

Any one who can give some advice will be most appreciated

Surely your dealer will give you a vehicle whilst this issue is being addressed?! An EV that won't accept a charge is pretty useless and they must realise this so I would be putting the problem firmly in their court.

Have you tried charging at alternative charge points and getting the same result?

I had an issue when I had my NX450h in that the cable wouldn't lock to the car. Had various conversations with BG who managed to get it to lock remotely but still wouldn't work for me. I ended up deleting the in car charging schedule and the app and resetting both and it finally returned to normal.

Here is the sequence that I now follow in order to get my cable locked to the vehicle. Charger is BG EV Sync. Interesting fact is that this happens only when I use aftermarket cable (10m). Lexus cable is only 5m.

I had configured the wall charger to charge only on off peak (00.30 am to 5.30 am).

1) Plug in the cable to wall charger

2) Plug in the cable to the car

3) Lock the car (this doesn't lock the charger)

4) Use the boost function on the ev.charger app to start the charging. This locks the cable.

5) Stop the charging immediately. The cable is still locked to the car.

6) Then the charging happens as per the schedule.

Hope it helps.

You shouldn't have to do that! If the schedule is set correctly then plugging the car in from the wall socket should lock the plug to the car.

Worth a try but if they suggest you need an engineers visit you might have a long wait! Part of my problem was that the wallbox was losing connectivity and after much toing and froing BG fitted a signal booster and hard wired that into the wallbox.  Has improved the situation however the issue with the plug not locking to the car was cured by resetting the in car charging schedule and the app.

I'm currently suffering from intermittent charging issues with my Podpoint - again.

Podpoint have replaced the PCB. The National Grid have performed a supply check and monitored my supply - all is OK. I've taken my car to my local Lexus dealer to have the cable and car checked - all is OK.

Charging will work fine for days or even weeks and then, all of a sudden, the cable doesn't lock in the car so no charge. This may last for a day or two until it magically works again.

Lexus told me that other Podpoint users have experienced the same and National Grid have told me that chargers can suffer if there are supply issues or other appliances are in use.

I can't spot any pattern.
