Drivers Seat Squeeking

I have an IS200 SE still under manufacturers warranty. The drivers seat constantly squeeks and creaks and is amazingly irritating. The seat has full electrics and so is totally sealed. None of the springs can be lubricated without removing the leather upholstry. Do I have a claim to have the whole seat replaced under the warranty.

Its definately not the seatbelt buckle. It is the back left side of the seat i.e. under your left buttock. It doesn't just squeek as you go over bumps etc it squeeks all the time even as you move your leg to depress the clutch.

It is an electrically heated seat with electric adjustment, if I can find a way into the seat without removing the upholstry am I alright to spray WD40 inside the seat?

Spoke to the dealers today and they basically said exactly what Colin said, wouldn't have agreed at first but had a play in the car on the way home and what do you know - it's exactly right!

Think they're going to take a look next week and if worst comes to the worst they'll order me a new one :)

If your IS is still under warranty I wouldn't bother with the WD40 etc etc - it is covered under warranty. The same problem happened on mine in June this year. Lexus Chester replaced the back of the seat and the problem has gone away. They didn't actually replace the leather bit but the part inside somehow!!! And the reason I know this is because the electric bit that controls the back of the seat now makes a different noise to the seat height ajust button (if that makes sense!)

Don't take any crap off the dealer tell them you want it replaced!

Good luck!
