Mot And Bulbs From Gb

Has any one put their car through an MOT with the bulbs from the group buy:

2 X Low beam / Foglights (9006s)

1 X High beam (9005)

Triple white LED sidelights

Blue reverse bulbs

.. or do you think I should change back to the oem to be safe.

My X-White 9006 Low beam passed.

The PIAA LED sidelights failed. :o

I took the blue reverse bulbs out as I knew they would fail.

I thought the reverse lights may do. I think the sidelights also do as there is a hint of blue in them?

No, mine are the double PIAA White LED bulbs with no blue in them at all. They failed because they weren't bright enough.

Your headlight bulbs should be fine mate...

i got PIAA real white reverse lights, the bulbs are blue but very white when lit. would they fail? the lighting very white compared to OEM bulb

Mine went through with teh headlight bulbs in from zee's GB ages ago, i took the blue reverse bulbs and the LED sidelights out coz i had a feeling they'd fail.

I had MOT not so long ago and the guy who did it did point them out to me, but he still passed it, :D all comes down to where you take it and who is doing the MOT, and best of all who you know :winky:

I've taken the sidelights out and replaced them with the ones from the side -runner indicators

Reverse lights... I may change them over, I'll have to see if I can dig them out...

Also, I've taken the orange bits from the front indicators, can you get orange bulbs for these, or is it back out with the marker pen before it goes in? :P

I had trouble getting the bulbs for the front indicators when i took the lenses out, what i had to do was get a set of similar bulbs that wouldn't quite fit, and adjust the holder very slightly to get them to fit. It wasn't major work, and the bulbs were quite cheap, i got mine from the dealer in the end, as no-one else in norwich had any of them!

Basically all the difference was that on the clear bulb base there are two little extensions of the glass on opposing sides (basically like this 'dP') and the new ones had the extensions running all the way down each side. i just had to remove a sliver off the internal of the bulb holder to get them in, and they've never given me a problem.

Sounds weird, but if it helps, gis a shout!

I totally forgot about my blue reverse bulbs, but it went through the MOT no probs
