As i am personally not a fan of footie, thats why i didn't suggest that, but what about a little 'sports contest day' instead, where we field a team of say, 25, and did footie, rugby, and any other sports that are team based and appropriate for the time of year?

If it's arranged as a team sports day, we could field teams for each sport that is goin on, and there could be no limit as to how many different sports you enter into as an individual.

I actually enjoy rounders too!!

Would someone be able to post a link up to this thread on TOC just so we can gauge interest from them?

Hows about this for a day then? I'm sure we could find a suitable venue, i.e. a sports centre that has the facilities for all the sports we wish to play.

Could charge for entry to it, and also could charge per team member (only a small fee as they will be the 'attraction').

Admin Chaps & Chappeses, where does the club stand on this?

It won't be an it's a knockout event as such, but a team sports contest. It shouldn't cost a huge amount, but that very much depends on the venue, and type of sports being played (insurance purposes).

What about paintball?

My mate ownes a site in Bournemouth, if there was enough people (min 10 )you could poss have the site to yourself all day on an exclusive basis, how about arranging a BBQ or picnic etc, also you are covered by the company's insurance.

OK, so now all we need is to decide on is:

1. the sports that will be played

2. where we are going to do this

3. finance stuff

4. prizes etc

5. and wait to see the response from TOC

If you have any suggestions for any of the above, please post up here!

think it worked out at 40 quid a person..... and let me tell you, that is CHEAPER than any paintball event, even if your mates with the people who run the paintball.. unless of course the paintballs are free and the event is free.

Update:-

They are planning to add clay pigeon shooting and quad biking from March onwards.

This information has not been released yet and is not on the web site, if this is something you may be interested then speak directly to Rusty his number is on the link I gave above.

At least with these options they should be something to suit everyone.

if we're going to do it as a sports event, i'd say that finding a venue that has the facilities for both paintball and sports is going to be a very hard job.

And it ain't gonna cost a lot per member is it? Just a few quid to get the hire of the facilities for the day, and the more that enter, the cheaper it gets, and anything we take on entry, food etc, will go to the charity.

i think that basically paul is saying that the deal he got ages ago for the it's a knockout was at a better price than can be done anywhere else.

So, any suggestions peeps, or am i gonna have to work solo on it?
