Exhaust

Hi :D

Now that I have most of the jobs sorted out for the weekend, there is one that I would like to ask , and its this. My other cars have never had a shiny exhaust sticking out the back. The Lexus looks really cool with its twin exhausts

The question I would like to ask is once I have done the minor jobs on it , is there anything I can do to make the exhausts shiny again. I know you can get covers for some pipes , but never even thought about it until now. They look like they have been polished before as the left-hand side one has one half which looks very shiny, the other side looks brown

they are covers and some metal polish will bring them up nice and shiny i replaced mine with some bigger ones

Depending on how dirty they are,For really ground in dirt find the finest steel wool possible,and or a chrome cleaner/polisher

Thanks :D Ive got some Brasso, but I'll get some chrome cleaner as well, I can pick up the steel wool when I go shopping Peter.

aswell as wire wool. also use a good brillo type pad or the plastic abrasive pads, with a blob of Autosol on.....and rub....and rub.........and rub

I've used super-strength oven cleaner on mine - come up a treat

Theres a box of brillo's under the kitchen sink :D , can I use these? that would save a couple of bob

How are the originals held on Mudz, they look like they just clip on - so just "pull" off???

WOW! where can you buy the covers from ? :D

I havnt got a spoiler on my boot, where do you get them from? are they expensive (they look it) and are they easy to put on

As far as i can remember they just pull off .i had to cut my exhausts back to fit the new ones .i bought the replacments from Halfords (ripspeed ones) cost about £30 for the pair.

well they look very smart. Can I also add this forum isnt doing my health any good as I have a just over five days to wait , getting some really great ideas, also going to join the gold members club as well next month , well worth the money
