Ride Quality

Recommended Posts

As Mr Singh said, get a geometery done on your car and check the shocks. The Lexus has a very comfortable ride.

If its better handling your after. Get some lowering springs fitted (eibachs), anti roll bars or chasis braces ;)

Get your geometry checked and the condition of your tyres. The IS does have a good ride over medium-good roads. If your on bad roads alot then it does get uncomfortable.

I assume your still on the standard SE springs? These are your best bet for comfort - the sport springs and the after marker springs are harder (but handle better)

Wouldn't bother changing down from 17" to 16"! :o

Oh.....WELCOME!!! :D :D (Enjoy your stay)

I have 16'' rims on my car and its VERRRY comfortable. My experience with lower profile tyres (which your 17'' should have), is that you feel the road more. So 16'' with a higher sidewall profile should make the ride smoother than the 17''.

Thats a good point. :) Alot of the luxary Mercs have 17"+ rims but the tyre sidewalls are huge!! Trouble with doing that with your Lex is that you would have the wrong size tyres on the car and it will make your speedometer inaccurate.

Alot is to do with the brand on tyres you get too. My 18" Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3's feels more comfortable and much quieter then the 17" Bridgestones my car originally came with.
