Is Audio System

Does anybody know the name of the people who are contracted to install OEM audio into the Lexus IS200 SE/Sport '99<'04.

I understand there are amps and equalizers "of sorts" pre installed to them.

What brand of speakers do Lexus use? (Pioneer? Bose? etc...)

Did a search through the forum on "Audio Systems" and other variations but found nada, hence the new topic...

I'm no expert on this, however here's my starter for 10....

I thought the IS used sytems from 2 manufacturers Fujitsu and Nakamichi. The ones in the earlier models 99-01 used the Fujitsu (CD slot at the bottom) and the newer ones used the Nakamichi (CD slot at the top).

I'm not sure about the speakers though....

I was told that the GS series uses Pioneer components for the audio system.

I'm sure someone will be along soon to correct me if i'm wrong.

ooooh interesting... if it is Nakamichi... then that's quality equipment!

The reason i have raised this post is because i read in a different thread about Mark Levinson Group providing audio in the new IS... which be a real good test to see if someone could replace the Old IS system with the New IS audio setup. Speakers, Amps and Equalisers all included.

Would make for an interestng comparison. don't you think? :D

That's the right manufacturers, but I think the wrong way round. The earlier ones were Nakamichi (when Lexus had a partnership with them), and then when they formed the relationship with Mark Levinson, the IS stereo became the Fujitsu one it is today

Definitely. The new ones sound rubbish in comparison. Reasons for keeping a pre-01 car include that, changes to the interior and the 2 clicks to lock the deadlocks.

I hope they are actually pioneer!
