You can get the sport grille for the Mk1 Gs which is mesh and was standard fit on the GS Sports. It comes in primer and the part number is AM283-50000 and it retails at £302.50 inc. Vat. The Lexus Emblem is seperate and the part number for that is 75431-30220 and it costs £11.14 inc. Vat. Could get those prices down to £242 and £9 +postage.

£300 for a plastic frame with some metal mesh behind it!

its alright for you you have one on your gs :P and the dealers can get the TTE grilles hmmm interesting

Dealers can only get TTE parts that are fitted to brand new vehicles at Port of Entry. We cannot any other TTE parts through either Lexus or Toyota even though we can get the part numbers from the TTE website.

Not suite true. TTE springs, kits, accessories have all been available from certain dealers for years.

So for an eejit like me what is the price of a GS sport grille in this country as that silver monstrosity on the front of my car spoils an otherwise very good looking car. I'm also quite liking the eyebrow things on the lights which I usually positively detest.

And I won't have any issues with the bonnet release? Its just I was under the impression the bonnet release was involved in the grill part or am I wrong about that? I'm asking so many questions as I can't go and just look at the car as it only came off the boat today.

the bonnet release is part of the grille there is either the mounting for the old one or the whole unit there. I think the prolex one is a surround rather than a grille

Its still attached but it looks like a Halfrauds special. The mesh is rusting and the bottom of the grille has no support so if you open the bonnet by pulling it then it could be damaged.

Im aware of it and its only me who works on the car so its not really an issue.

I have promised to make it a pair of supports to make it more rigid but like most things with me (along with my spare sport alloys) i'll get around to it oneday.
