I wanted to add a reply to the topic about doing donuts and have found the topic locked by admin I presume.

Now the only donuts I know are the ones which make my waistline more bigger than it is.

Unless I am wrong I did not see any mention of driving on a public highway.

If some one wants to do that and its not on a public highway and not where it would put people in danger like a car supermarket then thats up to him.

It seems to me that people are being childish and trying to wind each other up but what happened to free speach.

Without wishing to take sides I feel that its a bit heavy handed when I understand that previous threads on this subject have not been locked.

What is the reason for that please.

There is no such thing as free speech on this forum - it is privately owned and the mods can lock / delete / edit anything they like. If anyone is not happy with that then they can go elsewhere.

As you know, we have an area on the gold forums which is not moderated and you can say what you like there.

I think I have touched a raw nerve, no need to be so aggresive in your reply.

I was only asking the question as someone who likes to make positive posts as there seems to be double standards.

Your only answer seems to be if you dont like it clear off.

I have no connection with the person who made the posts but feel members should know why there is one rule for one and another for others.

Perhaps an a admission that a moderator was wrong might help.

"I was trying to do donuts with my IS300 in the supermarket car park earlier" Posted @ 01.22PM"

- In case you didn't know, a supermarket is a PUBLIC place, and being posted @ 1.22pm I don't think the car park was closed for private do you ?

Perhaps an a admission that a moderator was wrong might help.

Admission for what ?

As someone who has been a highway engineer for over 30 years a supermarket car park is not public highway but somewhere where the public has access too in case you do not know.

What I did say was that if the guy wants to do donuts off the public highway and not to cause danger to members of the public which included supermarket car parks whats the problem that you need to lock the post.

Why dont you admit that you dont like the guy I suspect for his previous posts which I do not necessary agree with.

All I am saying like others is that you should have good reason to lock posts and not have the attitude of "if you dont like it go elsewhere", as we are all grown men here who dont need being treated like kids by being told "this is a private club" as the only answer.

No doubt you moderators will not admit you were wrong and will all stick together but if you carry on with that attitude you will lose members.

Andy,

Again, you just don't see the point do you ?

You can have been an engineer all your life.

I have been a police officer for 5 years, and I know that a car park IS a public place, in terms of ROAD TRAFFIC LAW.

In case you forgot, supermarket car parks have

People ? Children ? Elderly people ?

So what are you trying to get at ? It's OK the do donuts in a car park, just not on the high street?

Why would I have a grudge against Eddie ? - I don't even know him, never met him .... never spoken to him. So how can you say I do not like him ?

I think you need to get your facts right first, before you post.

If I'm wrong about something, I WILL apologise, and I have done before on this forum.

Perhaps instead of closing a post without notice, Moderators could post a warning that such and such is not acceptable and request people to comply with any T&C that they have breached.....then if they carry on, Close the post and they can blame no one but themselves....Fair?

Btw I prefer a moderated forum.....some other forums out there get over run with Insults and Obscenities and are full of mannerless individuals.....ask a question and get a rude ignorant response....no one to pull the them back in line...

What's frustrating for the moderation team is when people ask "what about free speech then?" exactly like you did in the beginning of this thread. My response was merely to point out that you and others DO NOT have the right of free speech here. It's not a debate, it's a fact, and your only option if you don't like it is to stop reading / posting on the forum. I'm not trying to treat anybody like a child, just stating the facts.

My facts are right when I say a supermarket car park is not public highway despite you talking about road traffic law.

If you read my previous posts I have said its not ok to do donuts in car parks or where it is a danger to the public.

Do not bother to apologise about getting your facts wrong as it is not necessary as I feel I have made my point.

You are just condridicting your self, and to be honest I have better things to do than prove my point.

You first said " Unless I am wrong I did not see any mention of driving on a public highway."

I went to explain that it's still public, laws apply .... dangers still apply, but you obviously know best, so good luck to you ;)

I'm sure others who read this will realise.

Thank you.

Pulling donuts in a car park will get you arrested or in trouble with the law....therefore it is against the law....which means, regardless of your opinions....IT'S NOT ACCEPTABLE TO DISCUSS THIS ON THE PUBLIC FORUMS!!!! So please don't pi$$ off other members by being petty about whether or not mods have the right to lock/delete such topics!!

Your point in all of this is obviously to stir things up...otherwise, if it wasn't, you would have just kept quiet! Frankly, it's this kind of attitude and small mindedness that brings LOC down....so either post your thoughts in GOLD or take your opinions elsewhere...oh and thats from a non-moderator because it's pi$$ing me off too!!!

People might not have agreed with what I said and have said so,however they did not call people mindedness or modify words to escape the profainity filter as you have done.

With regard to the topic it was over as far as I was concerned before you got on your soap box.
