Stock Engine Fan

Very interesting you should bring this up, as when I was in a garage last week, I was letting them have a look round, to make sure they wanted to do the timing belt, and they mentioned about the fan.

Don't think a conclusion was reached though as I was in a bit of a hurry, but I know they thought that it had hydraulic fluid though.

im just thinking how much air the fan can flow, i know the supra stock fan is better than most electric aftermarket units but im not sure about this, i doubt we will ever know tbh. might ost a fortune to replace it it breaks unless you go electric? the aristo fan has a fluid bottle saying only "dextron 2" hmmmmmmmm

has anyone had a good look at the stock fan on a mk1 aristo? mine doesn't look like the one they have on a supra i.e vicious im not sure how it is powered? are they electric? although i doubt electric fans would need fan fluid.

The fan is driven by a pump on the front of the engine and the pipes go down in to the o/s/f possibly to a cooler. There is also a solenoid on the pump which would suggest it would allow more flow to the fan to make it spin quicker depending on temperature.

I think if it broke, I'd have to be Koyo or Fluidyne with a couple of big leccy fans, probably cost the same as getting the OEM fixed or replaced.

Any ideas what the GS300 uses??

mk 1 GS300 uses a viscous fan and an electric fan
