Well what a fun day :crying:

Went and got Engine crane, £45 for the weekend, not to bad really. then started the lifting,

I supported the gearbox with a trolly jack. and all was going well, got the engine as high as we could then started undoing the hundreds of bolt holding the sump on.

Sump still on

Sump off, this took FOREVER, selant holding it on was very very tuff to get off, just hope i did a good job of getting the new one back on, as well as they did first time.

New sump with Oil line for the turbo

Photo of the mess we had made :)

Dave might be able to help here, on the sandwich plate for the oil cooler, i thought there was a seperate one for adding a gauge sensor in it. When i un did the bolt there was some crazy spring etc inside.

The only thing i can think that it is, is the oil temperature divertor. Does anyone know???

030320071158.jpg

Bit of a pain in the arse as now i havent got anywhere to added both sensors for oil temp and oil pressure.

Have order the sump nut one for the oil temp, but now need to either get this sandwich plate moddified or do something else which i havent thought of, any ideas guys ????

That would seem like an oil diverter to me but I am not completely sure.

Don't really know about the oil sensors. you could prob take the oil line to a hose specialist/supplier and get them to fit another T-piece in it for the oil pressure sensor. you could also do the same for the oil temp sensor but put it in the oil line for the cooler.

Just an idea but may not work.

The only thing is i can get a sump nut one for the temp thats fine, but i think i will need to get the sandwich plate modified as, if this is a oil temp divertor in the sandwich plate i can put any sensors after it or they'll only work once the sandwich plate has reached temperature nad letting oil through, a bit of a head scratcher LoL

hey mate what is the turbo manifole off. and how much did it cost . sorry i'm from australia and things are slow on lexus is200 here. and how much boost are you running

Its one from america i think, i believe that the prolex kit uses the same one if you ask gsportcars he should know as this kit is off him.

Boost is 0 at the moment lol but will be 0.4 bar as thats what the waste gate is set at, think u can run about 0.5 or 0.6 before the engine goes pop

It is made for the IS200, ask either Dave who runs Prolex or gsportscar, who has added posts above, as i bought this second hand, im not sure where it came from originally.

Not thought about doing that what car is the 1G GTE from is it a early supra or something ???

The 1g-gte is from a 2.0 twin turbo mkiii supra and I think it also came in the soarer aswell. Elliot you can get parts for this engine very cheap from Australian forums.

Try toymods forum. You will have to do a search as I can't remember the exact address.

The manifold is from turbokits.com in the states. Last time I looked they had stopped advertising the is200 turbo kit but I am sure they will still supply them. Dave (prolex) should be able to source one for you if needed.

Well today had the afternoon off, rang the welder he said i need to take suspension and wheel off so he can cut and weld. So thats what we did :)

The is the bit that needs to be cut out and rewelded, the area to the left of the 2 bolt in middle of picture.

070320071170.jpg

HKS strut on the floor with wheel and packet of crisps :)

070320071171.jpg

The car jacked up very high lol a bit wobbly, but have since lowered and put a second support just incase the wind gets up in the night.

070320071172.jpg

Also decided to fit this shiny new thing today :) thanks to marcus, there are a few bits that he probably couldnt get the polishing wheels into but they dont show when all the stuffs back ontop.

070320071173.jpg

Horrid old dirty cover :(

070320071174.jpg

Cams inside looked in pretty good nick, couldnt see much wear on anything, looked like new TBH.

070320071175.jpg

Another

070320071176.jpg

Shiney one back on, left the old gasket on as it look perfect and didnt really want to come off anyway, i'll keep an eye open for any leaks when i start her up first time.

070320071177.jpg

Another, photos really dont do it justice it does look a lot better the only thing is now ive gotta do the rest of the engine Lol

070320071178.jpg

Little piece i started to clean then the paint came off so i carried on and its pretty much as shiney as the rocker cover now which is good :)

070320071179.jpg

Another all finished up with the little 90 degree bend back on, if u can see it that is lol

Looking good B)

Make sure there is no swarf in the rocker cover. There is a kind of plate in it which you can't really get to. This is where the swarf was that blocked my oil and could have ****** my new engine. But it was caught early and just had a complete strip down and new oil cooler.

Just double check to be sure there's none in it mate ;)

the oil pressure sensor is located on the (oil filter) side of the engine, below the head are x2 knock sensors, the actual pressure sender is located behind the oil filter near to the coolant drain tap

ENGINE.jpg

the location may be slightly out im doing this from memory................

yes try demon tweeks, you need an adaptor that screws into the block, in that you screw a union to plumb in the factory sensor, and whatever else it is your trying to fit............which is exactly what you have broken......
